Copy on all. It didnt smell like 15 40, actually, didnt smell like motor oil at all. But with it slobbering out, id be inclined to think 10w. The smell may be bc of age and or burned, IDK though. Will clean it after getting back from work this week.
Thanks for the thermal sensor suggestion. Ill...
Well, rebuilt the shutter stat and it work for bout 30 sec, compared to the 2-3 sec prior to rebuild.
im guessing a new 1 will put on order.
I took the tck out for spin around the country block and temp never got above 180-190, but im guessing the fan being on engaged the entire time...
dredging up an old thread. i too have been looking for a way to pull my GN trailer and coworker has a couple of these https://www.bulletproofhitches.com/collections/3-0-hitches and modded his old M939 series 5tn (sold it several yrs back, so no pics) to pull his GN trailer. his was easy since it...
true on the atv winch, but extra 1/4” cable inst hard to come by and 50’ or 100’ rolled isnt that heavy or difficult to mess with.
I run into “not enough cable” issues with my 12k winch, so i carry extra cable, shackles and yarder/skidding chokers when i go tree hunting/recovering.
As for the...
@Mullaney
I use an old 30 gal air compressor tank as a volume tank and run a 3/4” impact wrench for lug nut rmvl. I can burp all 10 lugs off and still have air to spare.
i think im gonna rmv the cutting bottle structure, fab up a volume tank, hopefully more than 30 gal and set it in place...
I wouldnt know the first place to start with wiring in a car alarm. Im sure i could figure it out. But instead of using a solenoir like what you posted from surplus center, a linear actuator with X lbs of push/pull force connected to the in/out lever would be better. Even that could be linked...
If its the post im thinking, its a lordan wireless remote system.
i thought bout going that route, but i can use the $700+ on other projects that are more pressing for funds.
I also thought getting a 12v dc 2500# atv winch to use to help drag cable since there is no free spool.
W/O getting to spendy, even if you didnt fully deploy the rigger (just let it dangle). 1 could drill n tap a 1/4” hole in a couple places and put a piece of expanded steel that’ll help block some of the impact. Proper rigging (hook opening face up, and even use a rug draped over the cable) can...
Unless he has 2 wreckers now, it’d be safe to assume, same truck.
could ether initiated those issues of a liner failing?
iv seen pistons melt down from using ether in excess ie: constantly to prime the fuel system.
Both my shifters are super tight. I sometimes have to put my xmsn in 1-5 to get the t case lever to fall in place. Same goes for the pto lever, t case in neutral, xmsn in 1-5 and apply pressure to the t case pto lever for it to engage.
Could that have been caused initially by spraying the intake with starter fluid to build enough air to get it off the delivery trailer some months ago?
were you able to bore scope from the bottom after the pan was dropped to determine which cylinder failed?
how much CLR did you use in the system?
i did another drain of my system to try the vinegar and it is still heavily contaminated with sediment and rust. i did allow the after cooler vent tube to discharge 3 gallons of coolant, replacing the vented coolant with distilled water and a gal of fresh...
X2,
I gave truck a bath, cleaning everything i could get to with a pressure washer or a pump up sprayer in more delicate areas after soaking with a biodegradable petroleum eater. I soon noticed my PS pump reservoir was puking out of the dipstick port.
@silverstate55
I did the cascade and flushed till i had no hint of brown/rust. I flushed the sys by by running the hose in the rad intake and letting the eng push the junk out till clear water flowed out.
i’ll try the vinegar since its cheaper and less caustic than clr.
Not sure what/why the...
thanks for the link. they had all but the shutter stat. maybe I'm looking it up wrong, but there are only a few alt. p/n when looking it up by nsn or p/n.
For ALL to comment on, not meant only for simps for the below comment.
before i left for work weeks ago, i had an overheating issue...
once i get hm, and can figure out how to release the cable tension on the non-operational truck, i will rmv that motor, open it up, inspect and replace what needs to be replaced, including all seals before install it on the operational truck. its unk how long its been sitting idle. then repeat...
