you guys sound like a bunch of pansies.i've been driving rigs since 1964 and everyone i put a straight stack on. :cookoo: you've got to hear the engine to feel the power
i'd sure like to find some of those winter blades for my five ton .when the snow comes over the plow and freezes up the wipers and the windshield, it's look out mailboxes. :driver:
weare is way to far for the beast. at 4 miles a gallon. been thinking about taking her to the R I show ,but will have to win the lottery.lol, the only one i can afford to drive to is the rochester show, which is getting bigger with more vehicles every year.will be at weare, RI,and webster, but...
i wonder, do you have power steering? my buddy teeded into his and installed a fisher valve , the thing works like a charm.don't worry about battery drain. :driver:
RE: Re: RE: 5 ton shear pins
I DON'T USE SHEER PINS , I WELD EVERYTHING TOGETHER ,AND USE MY HEAD AND COMMON SENSE. AIN'T BROKE ANYHTING IN 5 YEARS. :driver:
my buddie has one .we use it to do motor swaps ,cab swaps and to load scrap into his duece to take to the junk yard ,and whatever, works great on the front of the beast. :driver:
why would anyone pull anything in reverse??? when you hook to the back of the truck you are putting the pulling on the rears, thus increasing the traction. when you hook to the front end you are robbing the rears of weight transfer thus reducing traction on the rears :driver:
a deuce weighs apprx. 12000 lds.thats why they put a 10000 ld winch on them.
a 5 ton goes at least 22000 lds . you wanna tyr pulling one with a 10000 ld winch,???? good bye winch and mabey trans. aua
RE: m37 cost
my buddie picked up a 72 m35 in a junk yard for 2k and there was a recon sticker on the driver side window for $46,000 in 82. you're tax dollars at work.
it looks like a flasher unit to me , the old three prong ones. or it could be one of those alternating flashers, wig wags. being on a fire truck that is probably one or the other :driver:
you just overfilled the thing ,once the anti freeze is in the elbow ,thats it needs room to expand .don't mess with the thermostats until you run it with the right amount of antifreeze in it.if it ain't broke don't fix it :driver:
