the personell heater kits usually had their own stand pipes in the fuel tanks. the end of the stand pipe usually was a couple inches shorter than the engine supply so you couldn't run the tank so dry the engine wouldn't start.
sounds like a lean mixture in the carb. and yes bump the timing I remember my m37 said it would burn 68 octain gas even the 87 is usually closer to 90.
Weather you use the re usable or crimp type fittings the hose and fittings must be from the same manufacture. If you use the proper hoses to match the fittings they are just as reliable. Crimp tools are the same you cant use parker dies with weatherhead products again the dies must match your...
I played around with one that was a 12 volt model, it was missing a fan motor, I tried to make a civilian motor work. It popped and jumped quite a bit but never became a bomb the combustion chambers seem pretty robust, when they are new,an old one with corrosion may not be the same. if the...
As far as tank trucks are concerned the tanks are kind of small, but if it still has the data plate and the serial number it can be recertified, I just bought a 2600 gallon mc 406 second hand aluminum tank to replace a failed beal tank on one of our trucks. The tx2 blackmear pumps on those are...
I've replaced a ton of them both here and Iraq, I use a 3/8 drive 11/16 crows foot wrench and a long extention, and pull all lines before pulling the pump. The crows foot will also allow you to torque them to spec on reinstallation if you choose to. If you have a real stubborn one they also...
I've installed a few plows on them, just get a plow of your choice for a square body chevy. I've mounted boss, meyer, and western plows on them, and got my control power from the 12 volt battery. getting the headgear and mount for the older trucks may be a challenge if wanting to buy new you...
yes if you remove the lift pump it will put a lot of strain on the transfer pump in your injection pump and cause a premature pump failure. it sounds like the aiirtex pump isn't moving enough volume.
I use a top of the line matco infinum 1/2 drive impact, it is supposed to make 1300 ftlbs of torque. I do know its stronger than the dewalt because the shop has dewalt tools and the matco will effortlessly remove bolts that the dewalt cant remove. Its not in our budget at the shop to buy tools...
If your system sucks in air within a few hours after shutting down the engine the leak is in the suction side of the injectors if you find it sucks air over night the leak is in the return hose. I know this sounds stupid but I got the info from a bus mechanic while trying to find my leak I had...
The 915 1 drove was an a-1 model we didn't have radios, or ecms in ours. It just had a big table between the seats in the armor cab for them. The ac unit was on the floor centered right under the dash. hope this helps you some
Thestarter is a leaceniville starter. I have a spare solenoid. why do you want a new solenoid I ask this because I bought one that I didn't need. If the starter is kicking out its likely a bent starter drive fork the leacenivill and prestolite starters had a stamped fork that were prone to...
O the old Chryslers if you want the thing to run right when cold change the manifolds, just about every small block Chrysler manifold I pulled back in the day the heat riser port was plugged with carbon, and usually required a dip in a hot tank to clean out. having that port clear is especially...
this is some of the best advice given. unless you expect temps below -30, the block heater is all you need. At warmer temps battery warmers cook batterys and shorten their lives ,and oil heaters cook the oil where there is contact , the block heater will warm the engine nice and evenly a good...
look at transmission level usually coolant in the oil is a head gasket or something in the head when you have oil in the cooling system its an engine oil cooler or trans oil cooler.
