The DOD did away with the "on road" "off road" weight classes more than 20 years ago. Since hten they have all been rated at the lower figure. From memory I would say the change was in the early '80s, maybe a little earlier.

Welcome aboard.
All right, I've got to ask....why would anyone want a tattoo of an obsolete anti-armor missile system? :-D
Thanks for your service.

Hello, Kevin
Welcome to the crew. I was last in The Dalles in 1976 or 1977 when I was stationed at Fort Lewis and a buddy from eastern Oregon took me there. I hope it's as pretty as it was then.

They're all wrong! The bracket is a Mark 6 Mod. 4 Whatzis, OD, U/I each, individual.
Really, I've never seen one before. It sure isn't an antenna base bracket because there are no bolt hole for the base and ring. emmado22 thinks it may be for a chem agent alarm and he served in units with...
Good question. It might come in handy.
Is the frame on the M915A1 the same length? Does anyone know if the M916 frame is reinforced in any way to handle the winch? What about a PTO for the Allison?

Hello, Rich
As said above, the wait can be a wee bit long, especially for the first time. All EUCs are sent through GL to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Battle Creek, MI where they check to make sure you are an All American Boy and not some godless commie soviet reactionary trying to...
If you don't have them, you'll want a pair of the draw bolts (whatever the real name is?) to pull the spring brakes off in the event that you have to tow it without the ability to slave the M916 brakes off the towing truck. It takes a lot of effort to pull the springs off so you may want to...
Bob, I'm not so sure that's for commo. Can you post a clear close up of one of the ends? Also, there a sleeve over the cable, what does it state? If you look at the side of the cable it should be imprinted with a conductor gauge and count (such as 6/4). Sometimes there is just a manufacturer...
aztec, try these folks. They've always given me good prices. Late last year doghead and I looked into buying some crated deuce transfer cases out of alabama and having them shipped to NY. They gave us a pretty good price. About$80 each.
4-5 years ago I had them ship a 20 HP three phase...
Hello, mendo
The M105 is to tall, too heavy and too wide. It will all but guarantee damage to the truck in tight turns or when crossing a ditch or starting up a steep driveway from a road. Add to that the 2,700 pound empty weight with no brakes and you can expect jackknifes on level dry...
Maybe just his pride? He was flushing off the mud from the hole you went through on Saturday. As tall as his truck is, he was pushing mud out of that hole with his front bumper.
Lance
Thin the herd really good and you can take 4 or 5 trucks off my hands.....
It's good to see folks checking in and home OK. Dave and Rob may be a while before posting. They were on a timeline that would get them back to NYC as the worst of the end of weekend traffic was flowing back into the...
It's been a whhile but I think I remember that yuo can skip gears only when lightly loaded. I also seem to remember that you can skip one gear at a time up to 6th or 7th and then are supposed to hit the rest. These were designed for use on secondary and unimproved roads and I don't think quick...
VIC-1 intercom with an AN/GRC160. It is the vehicle adaptation of the PRC-25 or PRC-77 man pack radio. To have the complete commo set you'll need a TA-312 battery powered telephone and, hanging on the rear of the carrier, a DR-8 reel of commo wire. You may want a 100 meter pigtail of commo...
Alright, I'm still hoping the work week will allow me to come down Thursday or Friday.
Does anybody need a 28 Volt 3 kW generator? We got two 28 Volt gas engine sets in the last year and sure don't need two. One of them is a low hour unit with fresh plugs, filters, points etc. It has the...
