Yeah, I'm saying in a normal parking lot, the aisle between the spots isn't quite wide enough to make the turn. If the lot is full, except for one spot, you can't really get into that one spot. You need at least 1/3-1/2 of the next adjacent spot ahead of the spot you want to clear the turn...
LMTVs are awesome trucks, and fun. They seem huge, but when you compare one to the rectangular box that fits around a fullsize pickup (when you account for the pickup's bulged fenders and stuff), the LMTV isn't that much bigger. It just takes up all the space of that box. I can get mine...
I tried these settings and it was about 10% low for me (e.g. shows about 60MPH at 65MPH actual speed).
Has anyone tried contacting Medallion and getting the actual settings guide?
If we assume these switches are a binary number, for pulses per mile (or some multiple, such as this binary number...
You should keep a little bit of concern about this in the back of your head. I've seen vehicles with bad waterpumps (or belts), or no coolant at all, overheat without the gauges showing an overheat, because there is no coolant/circulation to get the really hot coolant to the gauge sender. So...
The lower bushings (pictured in this thread and the for sale thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?184851-MTV-Sway-Bar-Bushings-Greasable-Polyurethane ) are what people refer to as the "lower" bushings. The "upper" bushings are those that go in the eyelets of the bar hanger.
The military antennas are all fairly long for common HAM/FRS/GMRS/MURS/etc. frequencies, so not very practical to use. When you use them for wavelengths outside what they were designed for they don't generate a nice "donut" energy radiation pattern, and instead create lobes and nulls at various...
Picture is hard to tell, but crappy looking welds are often the result of contamination or poor shielding. Be sure to grind/wire brush all the paint and rust off the metals before you weld them. If your welder has a shielding gas bottle, be sure it's turned on and adjusted properly, and if...
What goal are you after? I'm not trying to keep you from trying it, but if you think yours needs it, there may be something wrong with your steering. I know mine is 100% not in need of a steering stabilizer, even when offroad.
It seems like these trucks have more issues when auctioned than other series. I think it's due to the fact that previous generations of trucks are being auctioned because they are being replaced with this newer generation/style, while if these current generation trucks are being auctioned it's...
Yeah, I just needed it quickly, so I ordered it from Erik's and had to pay more for overnight shipping than the stupid valve stem. Awesome.
That was why I was posting this on Sunday. Tire shops weren't open, and I wanted to know if I should order it then or not bother because they would know...
MIL-H-5606 / MIL-H-23282
They are aviation hydraulic fluids. If you google them, you can buy them from aviation suppliers online. You can often pick them up in the shops at small airports too.
That explanation just isn't possible. Short of breaking something off it, it cannot become out of balance. It's a rotating shaft and a couple pistons. There is no adjustable balancer or something inside that could come loose or move. You would basically have to break a piston off, at which...
I'm aware of that, to which the solution is simply to check the bolts and Loctite them. He's just saying "I know these air compressors break a lot", which simply isn't true.
As an aside, few people stop to think about how many cases are needed to start rumors of "known problems", "poor design"...
I don't think there is much evidence to support that statement being true. Even just reading these forums for years shows that we are not getting even infrequent posts of people's air compressors going out. Be careful tossing around phrases like "known problem".
