Just picked up my first m1078! Air Compressor broke on way home!

When you find out, please post it. I would like to get one too. I think this is that video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_dBBWOt55E

Where to find Allison transmission specialist?

It has about 2000 miles on it now. I've done the thing where you put it in learning mode and drive it around so it can learn. It's not displaying any error codes. It just jerks really hard, especially on the downshifts (it's difficult to describe how hard, but it's hard enough that it will...

Where to find Allison transmission specialist?

I called the nearest one, and they said their shop rate was $175/hr. Sound right?

Where to find Allison transmission specialist?

My transmission is new, it just shifts hard. I want a specialist to tell me why, and if that's normal.

Where to find Allison transmission specialist?

    You're also far away?!?

Where to find Allison transmission specialist?

My truck still shifts really hard, and I'd like to have it checked out by an Allison transmission specialist. When you guys post about taking your trucks to one, who are you really going to? How do I find a expert, or certified specialist (if that's a thing)?

    Who needs interior door handles?

Just a little update on the 3D printed handles... they seem to work great. I've been running them for several months now, and haven't had any isuses with them coming loose or stripping out. It seems like a win! I still might make the metal ones, but at least they don't need to be a high...

Who's running dynamic tire balancing beads?

The formula is in the doc here in my signature. I think I actually pulled it from the thread you wrote up Darrell.

    contemplating LMTV or FMTV purchase

I put two narrow MRAP seats in the middle, for my kids (7 and 3). They love it. I have a thread around here with pictures. I also still have the CAD drawings for the metal mounting plate, and there just happen to be a couple of those seats left on eBay. There is only ~31" between the stock...

    Greaseable polyurethane sway bar bushings

Sounds painful, but I'm glad you finally got it to work.

    Breaking beads.... on non aluminum

Honestly, it was really easy to do with the tire irons. Unless you are handicapped, need to do a LOT of tires, or some other unusual situation, I would not recommend spending the money on the bead breaker. Working around it a couple times took [literally] 2 minutes, and it came right apart...

    Breaking beads.... on non aluminum

I've done 3/5 tires in the last week. After going around the rim a couple times with a pair of tire spoons, it came apart pretty easily.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

I like the spacer idea! Also, you were supposed to have 4 spars already. Did your cover only have 2?

Using 1" steel tubing to install a tire

You can do it just as easy by yourself. You just pull up and push with your foot. It doesn't take much lifting.

Using 1" steel tubing to install a tire

I didn't come up with this, but I thought I'd make a video for those who wanted to see how easy it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n86D1sSBEE

Which side of Hutchinson 3-piece runflat faces out?

What's the torque for the nuts that hold the two halves of the rim together? I can't find it in the TM.

Which side of Hutchinson 3-piece runflat faces out?

These are my rims. Looks like they are just the standard ones.
  18. Awesomeness

Which side of Hutchinson 3-piece runflat faces out?

Thanks. How do I tell the wheels apart?
  19. Awesomeness

Which side of Hutchinson 3-piece runflat faces out?

By "toward the wheel face", am I understanding correctly that the long nose would face inward toward the axle?
  20. Awesomeness

Which side of Hutchinson 3-piece runflat faces out?

It's not even. When laying on one side, the large diameter of the runflat basically sits flush to the ground. When laying on the other side, it's up about 2".
