The banks system works well for the 6.2 but you need the banks turbo to go with the banks manifold. the gm turbo wont fit. they have different flanges and also the banks is real small and no waste gate.
you can actually get both batteries in one tray, search threads.
you can put a gm 6.5 turbo...
if you are using stock cucv cross over I believe you can use the port in the water pump and the original idiot light location on drivers side for water temp.
For the oil sending units you can use the stock cucv location (rear drivers), you do need the fittings from the 6.2. There is a second...
i don't see a Navistar marking, need better pic. Navistar is two triangles back to back making a diamond. also would have 506 on it.
it is possible to have a 6.5 Navistar block built as a 6.2 coming out of the military but not probable.
Navistar started in 2001 so if your cucv came out of...
how much is the water system. would a banks system do you better. If you end up in some higher altitudes, i think the turbo would be a better investment.
got the heads off and there was definite contact between pistons and valves 5 pistons showed valve ring marks. the marks wipe off with your finger so it appears there is no damage to any of the pistons.
One valve showed marks from the piston all others looked ok but I am sure they are not...
looking at their website, you may want the e-seal version since most diesel is 20% bio
http://www.gasoila.com/products/pipe-thread-sealants/gasoila-e-seal-thread-sealant.html
not much help here on that question. I will give it a try
my guess is that it should fit since the floor pans lmc sells are all the same from 73 to 87. I think the cucv is based on the 82 year model
The rockers were the definite problem. I am going to write a letter to Harland sharp to see what they have to say.
I am fortunate to be doing a job for the School of Automotive Machinist. We are in the process of building them a new school. I am the general contractor.
They have been a great...
well I am pulling it back out and putting it on the stand. looks like I have a bent valve.
while getting it ready for compression test I found the motor can not be turned over by hand once all the rockers are put back on. It has some definite sticking points.
looks like the timing gear set up...
I would not open it up either if you are not going to turbo it.
I would not worry about having problems with the rockers, they are a quality product just an error on mine. everyone makes mistakes, it just happens to be all on my truck.
It is a hobby and a stress relief for me so I don't stress...
mine did not get recalled and they were bad, the video was after my purchase or was not available during the time of my purchase. It was not until mine failed that the video was found and that was 8 to 10 months after purchase.
my truck has been being build for 6 years. It can sit for 6 to 8...
been away a while due to work.
motor died due to rockers seizing up. the spacers were manufactured to wide and when they come up to operating temp they swell and freeze the rockers.
I have checked all parts so far except valves everything is ok. getting motor set up for compression test so I...
for the five minutes mine ran, the Harland sharp rockers were quiet. make sure you get the install instructions, I have my motor back apart because of the lack of instruction.
The spacers have to be ground to fit due to improper manufacturing, it is very simple to do but if you do not, you...
I had a blow out on my new head. bolt was really drilled off a little and there was no side left to hold the bolt. I wont use the Permatex sealant anymore. I also had leaks with it on my 6.2.
I used felpro cork gaskets with the high tack gasket sealer, it is red supposedly an aviation gasket...
did you get the ho cw water pump, i need one for mine. using stock one now and before i put it back together i would like to upgrade it and also get the rear cooling system sold here on ss.
I like the timing gear setup I put in my gep. the roller rockers are nice but they have issues, I am resolving these issues now with my Harland sharp rockers.
motor seams to have a lot less rattle to it with these parts.
you can get sockets that screw into to the cluster that have two wires coming out the back thus bypassing the printed circuit board for that critical circuit if you cannot fix your board or get a better one. I think you can get he sockets at...
I know they have a right side up but I thought they were fitted per hole and had to go back in same hole.
I was also under the belief that if one had to be replaced the set had to be replaced.
I guess I just played it safe and they always go back in same hole if I am doing the work. I am not...
those are the rocker arms I have. These instructions were not there about the clearance issue, not what was given to me when i purchased them, no mention of any problems with them.
may be my problem hopefully i did not bend any push rods.
on note on the video. his pushrods are just laying in...
