I was under the impression that you did not take the timing cover off, just changed the water pump. just to make sure we are on the same page, I am talking about the aluminum piece that holds the IP which is bolted to the block, not the water pump backing plate.
from factory the timing cover...
my heads are ready. ended up doing a full valve job.
so far got my gasket set (engine tech from rock auto) but no flowkooler water pump. Still on back order.
debating on purchasing a new timing gear set or putting the chain back in. The idler gears in the timing set got messed up so they are...
I have been looking for a 4 inch. they make it. only thing I can find in U.S. so far is 3.5 inch and less. and a lot of china made. I just want one for sure known to shed water well. but I may actually go with a pre-cleaner instead of ram head.
yes for some reason snorkels are all from Australia.
please do not try to make your onw fuel heater with a glow plug. that is very dangerous. buy a fuel filter base with a heating element in it.
you can insulate the line from the base to the ip. that is about all. unless moving to Alaska then look into an artic kit for a cucv if you can still...
I think the wiring harness uses the 12 volt block for input to the second alt and the 12 volt alternator output goes to same block alto the battery goes to this block. just draw in the 12 volt block I believe would make it correct
you have a Frankenstein. you need a witch doctor.
my best advice is to get a 6.2 engine wiring harness and replace the hacked up mess you have. also there is difference in civy 6.2 and cucv 6.2 with 2 alts so figure out if you need civy harness or cucv harness and rewire the truck.
by the way, what is an IP re-seal? did you replace the throttle shaft o-ring? gasket on the top cover?
never heard of some one call it a re-seal.
Thanks
I would rule out the fuel sock. your fuel pump should pull/push the fuel not the IP. The IP will pull fuel but should not be required to.
check your fuel pump if you think it is a fuel delivery issue. a stopped up fuel sock will let it idle but not run good at WOT.
I would place my bet on...
If you have time to elaborate on the oil filter mod you are installing then please share. I have the valve cover with oil cap opening and I will have the motor out so it may be something I should consider.
if it is in this post somewhere then please point it out. I have been through it (been...
The latest update is the heads are being worked on, I am going to pull the motor so I can put it on the stand to re-assemble. It will be easier to remove the rest of the motor to work on than try to put it back together in the truck. I want to touch up all the paint while it is out.
I am...
I am going to write them a letter once the heads are back from the Machine shop. the people working on the heads know the owner of Harland Sharpe. once the heads are done, I am going to bring motor and rockers to shop to assymble so they can verify my rockers caused the problem.
I purchased my...
I don't think .o1 will make enough difference. with everything working properly it should never happen. I am getting things fixed, just have to throw a few more $ at it.
Thanks
Rich
I think your fuse box melted. remove the srew from the back side of the fuse box (on the engine side of fire wall) pull the big plug out and inspect the connection at the big plug. probably got corroded and that eventually burns up the fuse box.
if this is the case you need to start searching...
the hummer kit is different than the cucv. the cucv kit has a t that goes into the system at the rear plate, so the sensor has a place to be installed.
you may need a mixed kit if you are running a hummer cross over and the cucv sensors. the Humvee and cucv kits are different.
I will let the op chime in but yes it appears to be AN 4 I just got my set. I don't have my heads back yet and my flowkooler water pump is on back order
The parts all look good, nice quality. I thought the lines would be bigger. I suppose to much flow would not be a good thing either...
yes I have the 6.2 it is only missing the intake manifold. I have it and all the new parts for it. I plan to get an intake manifold and get the motor put back together so I can sell it running. I even have most of the banks turbo pieces to go on it also
you don't have a Navistar symbol anywhere in any pics and if is stamped 6.2 on the block then it is not Navistar.
it is a rare find to get a Navistar block in a cucv. hummers yes but not a cucv unless it got a military rebuild in the 2000's then yes it would probably have received a 6.5 block...
