    M45

Looks good! Tires look near new, especially the rears, We now know it is a multifuel. Naturally aspirated LD (non turbo) judging from the skinny stack. Looks quite un-molested; flame heater cover still in place, Body looks great, too. Straight and not rusted out, A real nice candidate for a full...

    M45

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/second-heavy-truck-ft750w-m45a2-fire-truck-1975.141399/ Unless it is an A2 model or was upgraded, it could still be a gasser. May I suggest that perhaps someone might be interested in restoring a low-volume production model such as as the fie truck? You...

    Almost bought a truck today

And if you absolutely must have a turbo, bring that creampuff home, get the parts needed (the kits are still out there; add your own turbo) and slap one on. Really not a big deal. That is what the military did. The non-turbo performance penalty is small and especially when equipped with a...

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Thanks to YouTube suggestions I realized that 13foxtrot is also the guy that has the cool whistler w/w Deuce dump! Also a video.

Anybody have any aftermarket M35A* LED headlights they particularly like?

The cheapo lights I bought are 12-28V capable! Good point - always verify.

Anybody have any aftermarket M35A* LED headlights they particularly like?

I have gone through two sets of TruckLite milspec LED headlights where one always died after a while, usually losing low beam on one side. Apparently, they have issues with bad solder joints and they are next to impossible to fix because everything is encased in rock hard potting. After that...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Decided to remove the pioneer tool rack and put a military under bed storage box there instead. I figure that is a tad more practical. Space for my winch strap, chain and snatch block, as well as the emergency triangles and flares.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got them last year from eBay for about the same price one pays for the single IR lights. Did a little thread on how to convert the IR portion to a second clear light and was staring at them for 10 months before getting around to mounting. They have a base that mounts to the truck and the whole...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Mounted and wired up the lights. For now, they come on with the high beams. When the switches and diodes come in, I will add a LED flasher so I can use them as "emergency lights", wig-wagging, as well. :) Blackout lights are hooked up as well.

    Detroit 6v53 in an M35A2

Not sure if this guy is a member here - curious about his build. I have a soft spot for Driptroits. It looks like a Deuce chassis with an old International cab. Sounds good, though! It is not completely blasphemous, either. The 6V53 powered the M113 for example, so it did see military...

New to M35, getting started, where am I leaking?

If you need a valve and/or a spring I have both if you need it. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I needed to fabricate brackets for the armoured double headlights I recently converted to all LED. While the single lights are ok to mount, there simply is not a good spot for the big, heavy double lights. After doing what the signature of one of the members here suggests ("every repair job...

No air brake engagement on M35A2

If it was my truck I would probably do two things before I rip the airpack out: - drain all air pressure, remove the splash shield and add air tool oil to the big chamber; in the usually recommended location (small 1/8 hex plug; see black arrow in this thread...

No air brake engagement on M35A2

Now your friend needs to decide if he wants to spend $90 and a half day or $500 and an hour. Rebuild kit and doing the overhaul vs. installing new air pack. Tactical Repair on YouTube has two real-time videos on how to do the rebuild. Other than a bit of time it is really not that bad...

    Never ending brake nightmare

Not in the 2.5ton. Master is not being bled and airpack has one bleeder valve.

No air brake engagement on M35A2

m715mike opens another can of woms - and we do not know because we do not know your friend and how much clue he has when it comes to brake systems or the M35. The brakes could be far out of adjustment and simply not generate enough friction to brake well. The linings could be contaminated. The...

No air brake engagement on M35A2

Lack of air assist but brakes working would point to the air pack not doing its job. It can be rebuilt or replaced. Brakes not working could also be a bad master cylinder. Especially for people not very familiar with the trucks I recommend downloading, reading and following the Technical...

    "Ran when parked" thread.

Good grief, there is no rust on that thing! Even the windshield frames look pristine!

    "Ran when parked" thread.

Two Canadian built M35 (Medium Logistics Vehicle, Wheeled - MLVW) daydreaming of better days. Junkyard close to me.
