    6 Wheels vs. 10 WheelsthereT

Re: RE: 6 Wheels vs. 10 WheelsthereT Nah Bruce, that was Bjorn - but I'll take the mistake as a compliment! However, the initial production vehicles were M34 with six 11.00 - 20 tires. In fact, the earliest manuals make no reference whatsoever to the M35 (10 9.00 - 20 tires). The army policy...

    Model

IIRC correctlyk, Roco made one in 1/87 (HO) several years ago. A 1/35 scale version was announced several years ago by Skybow - but not produced. Skybow's 1/35 scale line has been taken over by AFV Club, who produces great M35A1, M35A2, and M49A2C kits. HTH, David Doyle (who used to own a...

DFW to St Louis trip, any suggested stops?

RE: Just throwing out an idea... The restuarant in the Drury Plaza near Chesterfield has a great steak, and though higher than Bonanza, is not too steep. Fort Leonard Wood is in St. Robert, MO - at the FLW exit, north of the interstate, and west of the exit (base is south of the exit) is a...

MY new to me M109A3 just got home

AP Bloom, who is on SS sells, or at least sold, these power steering kits. I understand that the manufacturer has discontinued them, and they, and their parts, are likely to become hot items. Congrats on the new ride Jason. DD

Waking a MV from a deeeeeep sleep...

I've got (or did have - need to look around the shop) - a spare rear step or two for the firetrucks. The zoning boys got after me here while back and a lot of good parts went for scrap to keep me out of hot water.

Ah yes, the crease is still visible. ( Very much a different angle of departure than that of a regular deuce (and easily forgotten too). DD

The motor you are referring to is for the pump primer. If you will send me a PM with your email address, and let me know what kind of internet connection you have, I'll try to help you out. Regards, David Doyle

Waking a MV from a deeeeeep sleep...

To really properly consider these things, one should look at the Standard Nomenclature List number - in this case G-742. That is what puts the family of trucks together. The M44, M45, M46, etc, etc. are all SNL G-742 (as are M35, M35A1, M35A2). Using M numbers leads to a lot of confusion...

DFW to St Louis trip, any suggested stops?

RE: Just throwing out an idea... SCott, Not a place that you can shop - but definately a place you can stop. Just West of Rolla on I-44 is Ft. Leonard Wood (at St. Roberts, MO). On post, in a single building are three museums - Corps of Engineers, Chemical Corps and Military Police. Across...

    Iola Vintage Military Show

I'll be there! For those that haven't made this event, this is really a great event. There are a LOT of folks selling a lot of things. However, I rarely get to see even a fraction of the stuff that is offered for sale. That is become I stop and visit with all the SUPER friendly families there...

Waking a MV from a deeeeeep sleep...

If you have the gear that equips the truck, you are already 80% through a restoration project - and this is the voice of experience. The fire trucks have some basic differences from all the other G-742 (M-35-type) trucks. The battery box is different, the heater is remarkably different, the...

    1950's GMC M211

If the liquid-cooled transmission is OK, you should be fine. Don't use high range reverse - especially if loaded. Best wishes, David Doyle

    lubricator trailer

I need a fender for one of these, if anyone is parting one out. Best wishes, David Doyle PS There are a LOT of trailers not in my book - I went over length on the book, and several things were cut. Maybe next time....

    Vehicle Serial No. ????

Hmm...they shoulda stenciled the registration number on the underside of the hood, not the VIN. Interesting. Tell me more about the chevron. Tan truck? DD
  20. D

    Vehicle Serial No. ????

The correct nomenclature for the hood would be U.S. Army 04M-35769. That is the registration number - this is the number that identified the truck to the army. Think of it like the tag number on your car - only permanent. The 0325 24681 is the manufacturer's serial number, or VIN. Beyond a...
