Mine was a non runner on the other side of the country. Used the gp broker and used the truck don't run function, and repeated it many times in the comments. The shipper showed up without ramps or a winch, but they got it running and loaded it from a dock. When it arrived here, again no winch...
I guess it will be a bit before I get to this now and will start a new thread on it, including high speed gear install (since I'll have one hub apart good time to do it.) also ordered the seal drivers and a full hub kit. So I can machine the old hub cover and set the gear lash as Steve does it...
Steve, any idea what would make the ctis seal on a front hub continually fail? Ctis control box is disconnected, but still have all wheel hardware on. I only have 50 miles on the one I just put in, and now again have gear oil all over the wheel and drum again.... on a side note, do you...
Replace the air brake check valves by the front bumper, there should be three of them. Rebuild the tractor protection valve. Upgrade the headlights to h4's. Get used to spending 30 min every time you stop someplace when driving it to explain how you got it. Buy bigger tools lol
I'm in the process of changing my tires as well. My two fronts were well thrashed and on borrowed time. So now I have two new xzl's in the front still need to swap the two near new goodyears on the rear for xzl's. And run the goodyears as a spares. I can't believe you changed them all in 3...
Visibility is awesome is an understatement. Except behind you. Turning is interesting as you wait a little longer. The truck is shorter than my crew cab long bed dodge, so it fits in parking spots, barely. So much fun and easy to drive.
Started mine in 30 degree weather today. Jeesh these engines don't like the cold. She grumbled and grumbled but did come to life. I can see a block heater in my future.
Here is an update on my experiment. So far the front 2 tires are done. At times there can be a little vibration either speeding up or hitting a bump gets things smooth again. So far so good, no ctis issues. Much better than before without the beads.
Drove around in wet snow today. No issues. The slush my jeep would stay on top of and slide on, the Lmtv just pushed out of the way. Both the mich and Goodyear tires shed the snow well.
Wow!!! Maybe they didn't see you because you were.......camouflaged!!! The way people drive on the highways is absolutely horrendous. Most of the time people are paying more attention to their phones than to the act of driving its self. I hope they are OK and can learn from this...
Mine is a multi year project. I need it as a truck now to move supplies but in a year or two I dream of a rig like yours. Excellent work!!! I'm also thinking about a trailer to tow behind it to carry more fuel, water, small gen, and the bikes. I have dreams of traversing northern Canada and...
