    CTIS Seal Help!!

When I first got the hub apart, I was a bit confused as I thought both sides were oil bath lubed. So when the back bearing came out greasy, I had to really look at things and realized that rear were greased and sealed from the front. I wonder why they didn't just drill some oil passages from...

Towing with an M0178 or other LMTV

Safe as long as you have a brake controller set up properly , and don't exceed the tire or axle ratings on the trailer. Also keep the proper weight on the tongue. If you dig into it deeper you will also learn weight on the tongue equals weight removed from the trailer axles. Gives you more...

Towing with an M0178 or other LMTV

Trailers behind an lmtv equal Commercial drivers license. As far as tow ratings, the lmtv is rated to tow another fully loaded one. Before you tow anything read up on the laws. Also considering my 8000 pound pickup can tow 20000+ pounds. I'm sure a 17k pound medium duty truck is better than 10k.

    Front hub ctis seal advice?

Thanks, good info. I already have the tire and brake drum off. That was fairly easy, may have been the gear oil all over everything.

    Front hub ctis seal advice?

I have to replace my ctis seals on one of my front hubs. A couple of questions for the group. What gear oil to use? I know 75-90w but which synthetic have you found to run cooler? Any tips from those that have done this? How much swearing will be done?

    Wehring LMTV Mods

on a m1088 the center axle messes you up. The pinion gear I believe is made differently, so it's more than just a ring and pinion swap. You would have to consult the tm's and compare part numbers. For the other axles its an easy center section swap.

New guy from Kennewick, WA M1079

Mine is licensed as "commercial" for "non commercial use". You have no other option around this, unless you work through the dmv and have the the requirements for a RV. With a 1079 if you build a bed that could be considered permanent it may work. I did a lot of research and in WA trucks are...
