That's what's great about this site , a lot of eyes to inspect things we miss. Otherwise the good news is your seats will ship tomorrow and I will forward the tracking info.
Mark, I looked at my parts pile and I only have the one I need. Of course the original one on the tractor was torn off. I suspect a lot of these got torn off as they got caught on a rock or branch.
Yeah, too many Marks. Great talking with you on the phone Tom, always enjoy talking about past military times. I think you are correct, I tried using a spot weld drill and had some success but at times the spot weld it tough to find. If you want a spot weld drill I can send one.
Is that a home made skid plate below the tank? I have never seen one before. You are actually missing two pieces under the tank from what I can see. Edit, looks like the angle is welded to the main bar, I thought it was bolted so it is one piece.
I purchased a used M151 instrument cluster to source the replacement parts. I knew I would need a cluster so I refurbed this one over the winter. Tom, I actually have two very nice front fender sections, I can always have them tig welded on if these are too bad. I have the horn guard but am...
Today I tried getting the pintle off the parts carrier, that castle nut is stuck pretty well. Tried the hot foot but I was by myself so I could not keep the heat on it and turn the pintle at the same time. Cleaned the debris out of the good carrier and removed the master cylinder and peddle...
I'm going to check the motors today, they came in handy but the reason I pictured them was I snapped off one side of the jaw cutting the cowl, grip of steel!
Had a little time after work today to get some work done on the goat. Managed to get the cowl off, had to cut it in several pieces and carefully remove the wiring. Looks naked but much better. Next I will remove the seats and clean the cab.
If all you goat owners felt a disturbance in the force yesterday it was my fault. The carrier on the end of the trailer would not roll, the wheels would rotate a few inches then lock up. I unhooked the drive shaft and still locked, the differential was locked and either while under power or...
This will be the official restoration thread of the newly acquired M561 I posted about in an earlier thread. I was going to get it on the way to the Weare, NH rally but I just could not wait. I headed out Thursday at midnight and arrived in NY at 07:30 Friday Morning. Took about 6 hours of...
Well thanks to SS we now have proof positive they were there. If you look close at the first goat sighting you can see dunnage hanging off the goat suggesting that it was air dropped or a LAPES drop. You can also see the front tow shackles appear to be missing, perhaps a hasty attempt to get...
At about 5 minutes you can't see the goat but you can sure hear it in the background as you can barely hear the LT. talking over the engine noise. It appears the goat was dropping off a supply of ammo, the LT. is handing out grenades like candy.

Operation Urgent Fury, 3 minutes in and 14 minutes in. Actual footage taken by a camera crew caught up in the...
Not sure if you looked for one on your parts machine?, I looked at your pictures but there is a steel plate in the bed covering it. If I have one my parts carrier it's yours.
Thanks for all the comments and offers. I think you will be amazed at the transformation once I get it in the shop for a few days. The majority of the damage is to bolt on parts, this will make progress go a lot faster. Being aluminum is also a plus as there are no rust issues to deal with...
