Banks Sidewinder or Cummins 6bt swap???

I am doing a cummins swap right now. Plan on spending a lot more than that. If you do a swap buy a doner truck. That way you get axles tranny, motor and misc bs. Plus you need to change crossmembers and motor mounts.

Insuring a CUCV (protecting an Investment)

They will still give you blue book value of a 30 year old k5 or 30. If it was e er damaged or stolen you would be out some money. I called geico and that is what they told me. I could get antique but my driving does not fall into that catagory.

Insuring a CUCV (protecting an Investment)

I know some of you guys have a lot more money into a vehicle than what the Blue book value is. But how can you determine the value of a military (rare) truck? I'm sure the replacement value is less than a 1000, but they go anywhere on GL from 2.5k to 10K. So right now i have 10k into 2 vehicles...

M1008 kicks it at the Mudbog..

That one and they said they would sell it, but it would be cheaper to buy a complete one. He wanted top dollar plus some for his junk. What happened was I was looking for a starter and he said he had one. I asked him 5 times what the price was. So i drove my CUCV up there only to find out it is...

The M1031 with 5" lift, 12-bolt H1's and no spacers build!

It did come that way. There was a thread about it a couple months back and it probably uses the same sending unit as a gas job so they just plugged it at the factory.
