Risks of driving without one drive shaft?

So I am having my front drive shaft lengthened at a shop, and they said to come pick it up today. Problem is I don't have a vehicle that could carry it, so I would be driving the humvee down there in high lock to pick it up and install it. I've had to drive in 2 wheel drive once before when my...

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

Sorry, I didn't know how the stud was attached before. I was checking out the studs and from just looking it didn't seem like they could be removed. That's why I was about to go through with replacing the entire spindle. Now I'm just going to replace studs. Thanks

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

Well my current spindle has stripped studs and I didn't k ow if it would be easier to replace the spindle or the studs.

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

Anyone know how to take the studs off the spindle?

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

I think I will go with a radiator mounted condenser and two 24v fans, with the red dot compressor v belt. I probably want to use the red dot evaporator and blower though to stay at least a little military style. Definitely going to stay away from the other condensers that mount on the roof, too...

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

Not the fan that would be louder, just where it mounts. Plus my engine runs way too cool all the time. 170 in 90 degree heat.

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

That wouldn't be that bad... I do have a couple of course concerns though. It runs off of 24v so, how noisy are the fans? The reason I wanted to mount it on the radiator stack is to keep the noise up there with the engine. And if I use that system, does it use an engine mounted compressor or...

Spindle Replacement & alternate a/c options

Consolidating two threads into one for simplicity. 1. Anyone have a good write up on swapping out a spindle? I was looking at the seal replacement in the TMs and it seems like there are some specialty tools involved? Is it that complicated or is it as easy as a half shaft replacement? 2. I...

    You need a 1" lift for a 4l80 or the 6.5 turbo? Didn't need a lift for my 4l80

    Tire pressure, mpg, ride quality

I am currently running 30 front and 28 rear. Should I at 5 to each?

    Tire pressure, mpg, ride quality

For M998s it lists 337 mile range. I assume that's at curb weight? What do they do to measure that, I feel like that was not accurately measured.

Thanks. I've tried to used the search function before. Was not a fun experience.

Diagnostics help. Possible failed transfer case?

Had the same problem. Don't change the transfer case just yet, it could be a waste of time and money. For me if was a CV joint in my left rear half shaft. Vehicle will work in HL and L with a half shaft broken, but not Have. With a broken CV joint there will be no visual differences, but start...

Did you upgrade from D rated tires? If so do the E tires have better ride quality or nah?

    Tire pressure, mpg, ride quality

What pressures are you guys running with stock tires? Is fuel mileage increased at all with higher psi? How about ride quality at high speeds? How does handling change with psi? Now that I'm on the road at 65+ I'm making sure everything is tuned to work its best at those speeds as my truck is...

    Deep water Fording kit usefulness

Is the vented power steering cap have a valve in it? Is there any considerations when slowly applying the kit to the vehicle over time (like install the vent line and cap to the power steering but not having the new CDR valve installed yet?)

    Deep water Fording kit usefulness

Since most likely I will be piecing together a dwf kit, anyone know where to get the waterproof engine dipstick? (already have the transmission dipstick that seals)
