    Deep water Fording kit usefulness

Yes, I haven't really read the -10 manual cover to cover. What I have done is read all those posts before. For the fan, I already have a switch wired into that so I can turn it on and off for Fording and what not. In reference to #3 I read on another post that with just the snorkel and...

    Deep water Fording kit usefulness

Okay so I am weighing the usefulness of the DWF for me. I do a lot of 4x4 adventures out in the mountains and I often have to cross small deep 'rivers' (not moving, most of the time). Generally it's a simple in and out as they are not that wide. Most are around 2 ft deep in the middle and...

storing my humvee for 3 months

I just looked up my AGM Optima batteries, their website says 8-12 months and they are good. Much better from the stock batteries.

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

Weight off it... so should I be jacking up the whole vehicle rather than compressing the suspension? What are those nuts torqued down to?

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

Dude. I'm not here to talk about any other thread. I was asking a different question, and to be frank, that thread is old enough I doubt anyone would bother to respond to some added piece of info in an old thread. Trust me, I've done it and had no one reply simply because it's been silent for a...

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

Not here to talk about that. Simply wanted to know if the winch is hardened steel or not.

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

Didn't look at the number but it's not anywhere on the diagrams...

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

    1. There are only two wires that are supposed to be down at the horn, for some reason there's a third mystery wire as you see in the picture. 3) brackets are about 2 inches off they are just in the wrong place so I have to drill another set of holes next to the existing holes on the winch

Trouble with mile marker winch installation

I have a couple questions, and no these are not the normal ones that can be solved by a manual, I already have the installation instructions. 1. I have the A2 harnesses in and there appears to be a third male connector right by the horn wires. No place for it to plug in, maybe the A2s had this...

storing my humvee for 3 months

My batteries are the optima AGM, not lead acid. Still going to disconnect then though

storing my humvee for 3 months

I will be storing my humvee for 3 months soon and there will be no one to drive it or operate it for that time. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about what I should do prior to parking the vehicle and leaving. So far I got: Disconnect batteries, chock the wheels, park it in a garage...

Rear Left Hub - Lower Ball Joint Slightly Loose

Sorry, but these are two different problems. My squeaky suspension is front left steering rod arm. This is a lower ball joint on the left rear hub. When the tire is on and the suspension is working there is no squeaking. It only squeaks when I pull the hub up and down, and barely even then.

    Voltmeter gauge not working

Yep, put the ground on the wrong stud. Put it on the stud in that diagram and fixed the issue.

Rear Left Hub - Lower Ball Joint Slightly Loose

    Yes. Replacement nessesary?

Rear Left Hub - Lower Ball Joint Slightly Loose

Just did a quick inspection of my lower ball joint on my right rear hub and noticed that it has about a 1/16 of an inch of movement in it. Should I go ahead and replace it? Is this dangerous? Also I looked at the tie rod and noticed that the hole in the stud for the retainer clip is way below...

starter motor running in run position

Thanks, I'll swap it out and see if that works

starter motor running in run position

I do have the keyed ignition switch, could the internals have gone bad and is giving 24v to both run and crank? Could the starter solenoid be bad? Or is it more likely the switch?

starter motor running in run position

    It's disconnected at the switch

    Voltmeter gauge not working

Yep, I think I hooked that up wrong. Will check once I fix my ignition problem
