The best solution would be a hot shift pto they should be easy to find for a spicer trans. With the hot shift, you don't even have to push in the clutch to activate the pto we use them all the time on fuel trucks.
The c means clean air kit you have a turbo, if the tank has been hauling water its going to be rusted bad on the inside, if its ss you will have no rust or pitting also take a grinder to it ss wont spark steel will.
An mc406 multi compartment tank will have a space between each head, the easy way to plumb it will be a common 3 inch pipe hooked to both internal valves feeding your pump, being as it is water and there is no need to maintain your 406 specs you could also use rigid wall rubber hose instead of...
I did see a winch apperatus once that was a drum that could also be pinned through it some where, in order to use a redneck winch but you must have 2 and a long chunk of rope to make it work.
With the front axle being steerable it wouldn't serve much good as a tie down point. I went looking through all the electronic version tm's and couldn't find it. I do remember seeing it in an old paper tm back in the late 80's it was in the preparation for shipping section. its not there now.
yes it is a 1100 series engine, the ones I have worked on have an electronicly controlled stanadine pump. I have never seen one with a Delphi pump, so I cant tell you much about them, I can say to acess the drive gear the water pump will have to come off, and 1/4 drive universal joint sockets...
in the arctic we run diesels off jet -a my yellow cat runs just fine on it If you wanted to get into some real exotic fuels like crude oil how about a gas turbine, depending one how you adjust metering you can run natural gas petrol diesel products right up to crude oil. they are not efficient...
I should also add that pump looks different from the old perkins engines, or any of the new electronic engines, I have worked on, It might be one of the transition engines. The basic block and lay out looks like the new engines, but the pump is way different, and may be a generator specific...
most of the newer perkins engines have a drive gear bolted to the pump hub, the holes in the gear are elongated to allow timing, the gear is accessed through a hole behind the water pump, there is usually a hole in the gear and hub you stick a 3/8 rod or drill bit in to find tdc. Likely the gear...
No mine came with 2 new group 24 s and 2 bad 6tl my regulator worked fine I have since changed to 2 8-d batterys and the regulator is fine. I would look else where for a bad ground or spike, or a low voltage to the sence wire. There is also a switch wire on the regulator that is known for...
The -10 man. covers this, they are tie down points they use the same d ring shackles that are in your bumper. as I remember they are used for tie down on lapes pallets and air deployment.
It may be bs, but t think all this is the feds are getting smart to the fact a small operator can pick one of these trucks up with low miles and operate them reliably at a low cost. The government wants commercial operators to have the latest in emissions equipment and safety equipment, they...
I picked up some parts from fmtv parts in montanna. I think I spent around a hundred bucks each on the old style latches ,I picked up 3 just to make shur I had a few spares, as I live in bush ak.
Diesel does not need to be stabilized, the worst enemy for diesel is algie get a biocide add it to your tank before every extended period of time of being on standby. Power service and Stanidine products are good for conditioning fuel, and improving c tain numbers they wont prevent the growth of...
