No bands in that trans, I have seen this before and found the teeth stripped out on the back set of clutches. its pretty easy to pull the back cover off the transmission and replace the clutches, however on a 5 ton you may have to remove the t-case to get enough room to work.
I just bought a starter for a c-7 through the cat dealer in anchorage and after the core charge the reman cat starter costs less than one from napa. You take your starter into cat they can look at the motor voltage and starter drive size and get you a starter there is nothing special about it...
Most of the labor is removing hoses ,as was said earlier do the r&r work your self, have the hose company make the hoses , the hose and fittings are expensive. I had 6 3/8 hoses made up here cost north of 600 bucks.
Superman is right the first number is the number the driver has commanded, and the second number is the gear the tcm has commanded, given sensor imputs ,and yes 2nd is the gear these start in. I cant remember if limp home defaults to second or 3rd.
He should have been able to suck down the suspension and drop the cab air springs to get it to get it legal to transport. Glad you know it runs good. I don't know what all this fuss is about sound proofing them mine runs quieter than our 2012 t 300 with a c series cummins out front of it.
ps magazine put out a deal on the spring brake override the only use for it is to check the mechanical parking brake during pmcs. if the truck suffers a los of air the air control knob for the spring brake override isn't going to do anything.
I may be mistaken as my memory doesn't work like it once did I think the 3116 uses a gear pump like a 2 cycle Detroit if the pump isn't wet it wont suck thats why I usually suggest pressure priming the system so you can force fuel into the pump. Air in the fuel system is one of the biggest...
as this guy said unless you are trained and have the crimp specs, pay to have the hoses made, also as much as I like the aeroquip style re usable type fittings, you have to remember to be safe the hoses fittings and crimp dies all have to match, if you use the aeroquip fittings you must also...
on the 3116 and c-7 the return port and check valve is at the back of the head. An easy way to prime the fuel system is to use an air hose and gently pressureize the tank through the vent line, crack a fuel line at the lift pump and let fuel dribble out than tighten it back down, than crank the...
Out where the gov plannet site is I just drove in picked up my rig and drove out, Asked Justin where I got temp plates his answer was just drive it, unless you are involved in an accident they aren't going to pull you over. Once I got back on the highway I noticed how many ft lewis rigs were on...
First the brush guard was an option units put on, ours in the 80's were fielded with out them. There was one built by louverine, and another one built out of angle iron that were first put to gather off drawings at 3rd shop and later were contracted out, the louverine guards are the one you want...
I am looking at a mechanical vgt turbo called a switchblade turbo I think it will be just what I need to improve off the line performance and top end. It should work as good as compounds with out the bulk heat and expence.
I have a call into a buddy I have down there to see if he has the equipment to trailer it for you, and to see if he wants the job of moving it. will let you know when he gets back to me. its a little out of the scope of what he does, but he is a hustler and wants to keep his drivers working.
