Hypothetically speaking: would you ever consider returning an item of excessive value found inside another GL purchase, so long as it was not illegal for civilians to own? Or is anything in there fair game, whether GL knew about it or not?
poof those look great, what paint did you use?
Do you have any pics of your prep work or painting process?
I have a M332 also hoping mine comes out like yours.
Thank you.
I'm not seeing a torque spec in the TM; what are you torquing it to?
Edit: I'm sorry if this is ridiculous minutia. I'm just trying to read up and fully understand things before I go wrenching on it.
I've got a pair of P20HD filters for my deuce. I see the large gasket that came with them. But the smaller ring...is that the gasket for the center post on the housing body?
[LEFT]From the -20 maintenance manual:
Can I just re-use the old spacers, or if not, what is a suitable replacement?
Tried a search for "oil drain spacer" turned zero results.
After a week with highs in the 20's, I got mine to fire up today. The mistake I made when I brought her home is, I parked facing north--the Solargizer is shaded by the cab all day!
So, I stuck a 12-v trickle charger on one battery at a time (moved it back and forth to keep them even...) and...
Also my CC is giving me a big headache over having the "seller" fill out and notarize THEIR form RE sale price. They wouldn't accept a notarized Bill of Sale as valid for tax purposes. That's another big reason to go Historic plates. How did you farm truck guys handle the tax issue?
I'm 6'7" and it's cramped but doable. I wouldn't want to vacation in it but that was never the plan anyway. Might check out the M800 wheel as was suggested, though--my steering wheel is cracked anyway and could use replacing.
Yeah, I'm not too worried. I have a ton of PM to tackle before I drive it any more, and it's too **** cold to tackle the PM yet! I'm just glad to have her in the driveway (now my wife, on the other hand...)
I tried getting a Bill of Sale from GL as someone had suggested but even with that the county clerk said no way, temp tags are only for people who move to KY from out of state. Oh well. Waiting on SF-97.
In the meantime it looks like getting Historical plates is the way to go. Any KY members...
My wife would completely freak out.
How about next weekend?
Seriously though, I'm all for getting together. I know one of the first places I want to go when my truck is drivable is Knob Creek. I'm sure there are other places we could get together, too.
