should be some threads here on it. yes it can be done but I think you have to slide tranny back to pull flex plate and torque converter. I think you just have to loosen the cap bolts in the back to slide the new one in. I have not done it but have read threads here about it. I was going to be...
throw the dw40 away and put some PB blaster on it.
if you are changing radiator why worry about it. get a new one for the new radiator and just remove the bottom hose to drain the radiator
great info. I am going to start looking for parts but sticking with the cucv system for now. I was aware of the change of backing plate, not aware of the hose changes.
Since I have had my motor out and looked at it, I am wondering why there is not a rear cross over. Most head gasket...
found some pics, you can see where I moved the light to. all of the idiot light sensors were combined to light the service engine light. So I have dual sensors on the motor. IF I am not paying attention to a gauge either the water temp, oil pressure will light the idiot light. I had to put...

I had to rewire my cluster and did not use printed board (except for lighting) but I did a lot of other things than just adding a tach. Went to all gauges and moved the idiot lights, I did not remove them except 4x4 light.
One thing you have to do...
Glad you fixed it: look at all the other info here, it will help you to keep the truck running right for a long time.
We were all in your shoes once, that is why most are eager to help.
good luck

LMC has what you need, get low rpm tach. have to not use factory connections in bezel. make new wires to connect to not using the plug that goes into the bezel.
LMC has the fuel gauge and tach. get the correct circuit board and I think you can rewire the plug to the correct terminals and use...
I think corelokt will be ahead of me on the serp system. I will document my engine build thread. For now, I am going to go with the standard cucv system and get that running first.
The only thing I will be wasting is a water pump to change to serp so I am going to wait on the serp.
I am...
check your glow plug solenoid. may not be working right, will click. will cause slow start
that's if it is turning over and not firing
if it is clicking and no action from starter then yes probably starter.
check all connections, could just be loose
I will look into the ceramic. I was considering just paint. not sure what is going to hold up. I have someone local that has done all my powder coating and they do great work and are really cheap. I don't have any blasting equipment and that is what is really needed to get the metal prepped...
I am considering powder coating these items for my engine rebuild.
oil pan, trans pan, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, water cross over,
The block I will paint with high temp paint, open to brand suggestions.
Plan to do the long block red.
All the above powder coated items will be...
I crawled under my truck yesterday and got all the body nuts sprayed down with PB blaster and looked real close with a light. I have grease and dirt but good paint and almost no rust. I have two spots out by the rockers on the supports but otherwise, degrease and clean and it looks as good as...
you should see some plastic isolators around the terminals. The correct relay has the internals isolated from the case. some of them use the case as ground and thus when you mount it to the fire wall it grounds and causes it to engage. The relays look the same but if it have connectivity...
here is my mount. I need a new winch. The one shown here is a boat anchor.
with the clip off, you can see the receiver part that goes behind the bumper. I am going to try and mount the new winch on it behind the bumper
may have to do some work to the core support.
you already have a non stock relay, that one looks like the more recommended relay. I still not sure st-85 is correct, I think that may be the Napa number.
everything looks stock. your resistor is there and must be working. That is the black thing on the fire wall. It lowers the voltage on the...
I believe ST-85 is a good part number for the relay, it has been a while. you don't want to use the stock relay it is crap.
send us some pics of your wiring, If you are getting 12 volts on the green wires when all the glow plugs are unplugged, then either you are converted to 12 volts or your...
make sure you have done the doghead mod if it has not been done. go through the stickies in the cucv section and it will help you to make your truck dependable.
glad it worked out.

sounds like you may have gotten starter run on. your solenoid sticks causing your starter stay engaged. with the truck running you don't here it. it burns up the starter and since the solenoid is bad, you truck is trying to start but your starter is shorted.
That is the first place to look. IF...
The suppressor is just for electrical noise. Most of them get removed at some point so it is normal for them not to be there. I believe they just go between the case and the output terminal of the alternator and there is no wire from the wiring harness to connect to the suppressor. It just...
