What is the problem you are having? You shouldn't have to put a spin on filter or electric fuel pump to correct any problem. You can pull the check valve out to see if the ball is broken or missing but you may have other issues like leaky lines or a failing IP.
That's a 6.2 diesel. Looks to be a solid truck, no major rust issues. In typical fashion, it appears that it was either robbed for parts or someone with little knowledge tried fixing it based on the interior shots.
If you read through the stickies and perform all the service and upgrades, it...
It boggles my mind how inspection stations get away with this. I truly think it is a combination of ignorant and uneducated techs that regurgitate information without actually knowing anything. For starters, light duty (for the idiots in the world that is K30, K3500, F350, 3500 or anything else...
Ether on a diesel is perfectly OK...as long as it does not have some type of electric assist like glow plugs. The 6.2 will surely explode with the right combination of ether and malfunctioning GP system.
First, congrats on getting a Cuck! Very cool rigs to play with and you will have a fun toy...
That kid needs to learn the laws or go back to school...
Pretty simple, even someone with zero product knowledge would be able to look at the emissions decal to see what it needs or if it's exempt. Find a new shop! I inspected the M1031 last week and the guy said they have to do emissions...
I thought of that too when I bought mine. I ended up selling the welder and keeping the generator. It is just too big to ship anywhere and make money. Unless you find someone local wanting it, you will be hard pressed to cash it out.
Keep everything in perpective, we are talking about a truck that isn't high on collector value compared to others, always going to be in the sub-$10k price range, and already has a limited buyer's market. Who is dictating paint scheme's?
Paint it CARC and call it good, this is a CUCV. If you...
One battery would do it if it was an 8D. A sufficiently sized single battery would weigh over 100 pounds and not be easy to fit in the engine compartment. Don't reinvent the wheel, a pair of decent group 31's will set you back two bills and work great.
Yup, great truck but not $7100+ great. That is entering mint 1st gen Cummins territory and I'd much rather have a 6BT than a Detroit 6.2 in a work truck. A much better investment but don't tell anyone bidding.
I don't quite follow in how the wrong color could cost a sale. Who is buying Cuck's as period correct show pieces? Maybe 1 out of a 100? These aren't numbers matching muscle cars. If it was an MV that was a little harder to come by or had awesome market value like an M998, I could see your...
It is a diaphragm so you may have issues vacuum testing it unless you catch it in the correct spot.
Your best bet is just go with the vacuum reading it produces while running.
I have no sales advice but from a buyer's perspective, I'd be content with one that has no rust issues. Bonus if the bed and floor pans are lined with a quality texture like Rhino.
It's possible one scheme may be more valuable than another but that may only work if certain regions. Desert tan...
Simple, garage your rig for 6 months out of the year or move out of Massachusetts. The second option will also lessen your tax burden and give you back your god given rights ;)
No matter what you do, the calcium slurry and rock salt New England uses destroys everything. If you want to keep it...
If you like this truck and plan on keeping it, real metal work is the only way to fly. Anything else is just temporary and will create water leaks along with allow rust to hide/spread while covered up. Water leaks in the dash area create electrical and floorboard issues. Fix it right once unless...
I am going to swap a DB4 into my Cuck Vee that way when the PMD develops PMS it sends a TXT via BT ;)
BTW, just registered my M1031 in New Hampshire yesterday. Whoever took CUCV for a vanity plate...I'm watching you!!!!! I had to go with CUCKV instead :(
Be sure to post up install specs, different tach installs are nice when comparing what to buy.
Tim, you should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting a CAN Bus installation for gauges in a Cuck Vee. What next, a DB4 injection pump swap on a NA 6.2??? The TM's mention nothing of a code reader...
I originally wanted to do a full gauge set up using either military gauges (M998 style) or aircraft. Of course we all know how accurate military gauges are and the aircraft ones can be pricey. I'm thinking back to basics with a simple oil pressure and temp down by the diagnostic port to keep it...
Great...I now have to buy an HO scale of my dream fleet. There goes $100!!!
The only thing better than military trucks are toy versions you can bring in the house ;)
