Use the snatch block(s) whenever possible and take your time. The hook/chain portion supplied with the 5-tonner winch is the same as the one for the deuce winch and is a reminder to use the snatch block.

Okay, found your previous post, I'll see if I can find an extra overheat switch.
Edit: Found one. The contact is normally closed, so if you want to test the heater without it, simply short out the connection.

If you feed the winch with the wire rope within about 10 degrees or so of straight on, a level winder shouldn't be needed anyhow. My 5-ton (m656/xm757 series) doesn't have one since it's mounted upside down and none was specifically made for it.
Never seen one for the deuce winch...

With the info from the image below, you should be able to put together your own cable. The point to point wiring is shown in the second image (same for all versions and note drawing error, which I have found in all diagrams in all TMs. The "HI" is not energized during the "START" operation)...

There are chemicals that will lower the viscosity of VO/WVO, I'm told, but don't think it's working much below 20°F and it probably isn't cost effective.
Your best bet is to have a dual tank system, actually dual everything all the way to the IP, since "flushing" still won't clean your filters...
