I own a dealer version of cat e-t but I do this stuff for a living I also have deere case cummins Detroit and perkins. its not cheap if I have to plug in you will pay but our dealers are a $600.00 plane ticket away plus an overnight trip just to plug in it makes sense for me to have it. you can...
the block on a 5.9 is the same as a 3116 no sleeves I own one of those too they don't have the torque out of the box the 3116 has and juicing them up will also shorten the life of them I only got 500 k out of my 12 valve. the hydronic heater is a good idea and also something I'm looking at. The...
you will pay the same for cummins parts and service as you do cat, all the major manufactures have taken parts supply agreements away from the after market, and if want real expense buy some electronic parts for one of the new electronic engines,
I heard the same thing I asked my buddy at the local cat shop he told me air in the fuel system will cause injectors to fail you might get 1 o 2 changes than your cups will start to leak, if the cups start leaking the most cost effective way to repair it is replacement of the head, there are...
Well here we go again I live in Nome AK I have a lmtv set up as a service truck it has worked nice for me the cab is roomy and sealed up nice. The 3116 is quite reliable as long as you have a tight clean fuel system, Air in the fuel is its Achilles heal. The ctis works nice in the cold weather...
More than once I have seen some one throw in a duffle bag, or ruck sack in through the drivers door, and release the parking brake letting a Humvee roll, that is a good idea.
it might have been something fabbed up for preheating equipment or a shelter system of sorts, the ak guard had a few like that that were local manufacture with 10530's we used for preheating equipment like small engines and the old aircooled generator sets. when they went to surplus the pilts...
From the sounds of it the quill shaft has broke, its kind of a fuse so if the transfer pump fails it doesn't do damage to other parts of the engine. If that happens your best bet is replace the pump with a reman unit, and let your rebuilder source the broken hard parts. they can run up a...
I saw an m37 just like that up here the hard top and crew cab was a whitenberg conversion. If they did it with the m37's I would guess they did it with other models.
The 10560 heaters were used in the m113 vehicles, just not in the configuration you are describing. They are an oversized 10530 like you would find in a duce or cucv.
You could use a 90 degree drill to bore a hole in the tank and use a bulkhead fitting to seal the hole, with a stand pipe on one end and a pipe thread on the other. The filler necks on those are large enough to stick an arm into, or you could use a fabbed up stand pipe, gasket, and some self...
Those heaters had an extra stand pipe we had to add to the tanks, with a small facit fuel pump mounted in close proximity to the fuel tank. the reasoning being that the stand pipe wouldn't dip deeper than the fuel pump and draw the tank empty causing the engine to die also the turban lift pump...
In the back of the tm's there is a mac chart (maintenance allocation chart) that will give you a book time for about everything in that level of maintenance. You may have to step up to the 30 series manual for rebuilding the hub.
I know im a little lupie right because of the happy pills that were prescribed for my back. That was however the point I was making its just a relay box one could open it up and repair failed relays. if you wanted to do manual glow plugs adding the additional harness would be the way to go as...
I keep hearing about rust in these trucks I haven't seen it yet on mine this summer I would like to pull my floor mats and do a spray on bed liner under them just for extra security. The carc on my truck seems to seal quite a bit better than the tan crap we had on our trucks in Iraq. I have a...
yes it will, you also have a starter lock out function in it and a starter relay natural start function is wired in to it. you can crank the engine off sand t terminal on the steice plug but there is no natural start function it would also start in gear.
I personally think those pickup plows are a little lite for this truck, for real commercial use a Henkie or Monroe would be a better choice.
I killed 2 westerns, and one fisher, before I put a frink on my dodge 1 ton ctd. I would love to find a 12 foot plow like that one to put on my truck.
