    Humvee Wheel "winch" Self Recovery

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00g8pslE2MQ I thought those brackets were for tie downs? Any one out there also use them as self recovery (for those non-winch users)? They seem like they would be a pretty simple way to include a self recovery system without the added system of an...

    body harness or engine

A2 harness won't work with the 3l80. It has its own connections that are no longer present in the A2 body harness. You can go through the TMs and see the diagram and notice that many connections are no longer present in the new harness.

Washington is a mess for registration, they are... stubborn to say the least.

You know, I could never find a good blur tool. Even blurred, its still easy to see the numbers The number is already public enough, so it doesn't matter that much to me :)

    Duramax vs Cummins HMMWV Conversions

What are the pros and cons of each engine? I'm specifically talking about the predator conversions that they offer. Lets hear some arguments for each side!

Ongoing Log Of My 1987 HMMWV

Whining in the power steering, or in the brakes (fully depressed) is most likely lack of fluid in the system. My system has a leak in it so it drains itself after a week, and it always comes back to whining. Try filling then driving it for a while and see if it stays fixed.

    Alternator driven tachometer crapping out

So I installed the alternator driven tachometer on my 60 amp a couple of months ago and then a couple weeks ago I upgrade to the 200 amp. Tach has been working great before the 200 amp. As far as I can see the tachometer works fine and reads correctly between 0 and 2900 rpm. But as soon as I go...

    6.2l Emissions and Power?

    How does that happen?

    6.2l Emissions and Power?

I looked and there looks to be a 2.4:1 compression difference between the 6.2/6.5 na to the turbo 6.5. Of course its higher than gasoline, but I'm strictly talking within the diesel world.

    6.2l Emissions and Power?

So old diesels are known for not having those modern emission control devices installed on them, so I was wondering if anyone had hooked up a stock 6.2l to a emissions test and see what the results are. Of course the new diesels would have pretty high particulate emissions if the fuel wasn't...

    Mile Marker Winch Brackets

Has anyone ever used the left bracket on the right side as well? Hummerpartsguy is selling the right bracket for $250 but the left side bracket is $52. I understand why it would be expensive, but is it possible to install the left side bracket on the left as well? Any other places selling the...

    200 amp alternator nut size

I got mine from Zoro https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-jam-nut-34-16-gr-a-zp-pk10-u113700750001/i/G3319298/ fits perfect, I couldn't tighten it to the full 120 ft/lbs or torque, but I've been driving around for a month or so now and no problems. For my 200 amp I had to use a spacer, which I...

4l80e Relay and Circuit breaker location?

I found a picture, that panel seems way too large for just a relay and a circuit breaker, I'll probably just make a smaller box for myself. But where does the harness route through? Does it go through the battery box then out into the passenger area?

4l80e Relay and Circuit breaker location?

I was looking at the 24p-1 manual and it shows how the relay and circuit breaker are mounted but not where. I would assume they would be in the battery compartment? I have the A2 harness so I need to know where they were meant to go.

    S-788 in M101A3?

Awesome, thanks. That modification doesn't look too complicated.

    S-788 in M101A3?

Has anyone ever mounted a s-788 shelter in a m101a3 trailer? I know the s-250 ones fit, but I am looking for a little more space, and I found a website that is selling new s-788 for cheaper than the s-250. Plus the s-788 seems to weigh less (manufacturer website says s-250 weighs excess of...

    A2 brake pedal swtch

Solved the problem I secured the linkage at both ends with the clips and then adjusted the switch itself in its slot until the alignment was just right.

    A2 brake pedal swtch

I just looked at the manual and it looks like the a2 pedal requires a complete overhaul of the panels on the cowl to mount the pedal. I think there is an easier solution than doing unessesary work
