That is a cool M1031, not sure if I would want the dually but it's sweet!
OK so IMO this thread is spiraling out of control and going to crash into the mountain. Go on Rockauto, put in 84' K30, then pick whatever brand of shock you want. AC Delco if you want OEM. Plenty of great aftermarket...
If one hub is sticking and you have a front LSD, the spiders and clutch packs may have been damaged. Just something to check. A sticking hub with an open diff although bad is not the end of the world, the spiders just rotate around each other and the opposite axle shafts rotates in reverse. Most...
BUY IT!!!
The running gear alone is worth that. That doesn't even include the generator, PTO drive, rust free sheet metal, etc.
The thing has a ton of aluminum bolted to the frame. A decent IP will set you back $500, figure anothe grand for incidentals, you would still be money ahead if the...
Great vehicle to learn on for a young technician. Everything is simple and a good starting point to learn fuel, electrical systems. Whatever I takes to keep adolescents away from video games!
if he is into diesels, he will have plenty of work opportunity if he continues in the field. Whatever...
I think you have been part of a hoax...I've never seen OEM shocks like that unless they were cheesy dealer add ons. Yes, a product of the earlier days. The only time you will see a factory air assist shock is typically on wagons or mini vans.
You could go with an AC Delco shock as the closest...
I've never seen a card up close and that photo really shows how simple they are internally. Basically everything but that logic chip I'm assuming is standard fare off the shelf stuff. Seems like they would be pretty simple to rebuild but that photo reveals corrosion on everything. I agree, go...
No smoke issues?
Short of an engine integrity test with a compression reading, it sounds like your IP is dying or you have a restriction in the fuel system.
Hardest part of that job is getting the pitman arm off the steering box, usually requires a puller and sometimes heat. I would go the extra step and replace the PS lines as well while you have them disconnected. Of course this leads to replacing/flushing out the old PS fluid as well. All great...
That works too for a 12v conversion...320A should power a small village or hungry winch. Those Alts are monsters, I don't understand why someone would remove such a great piece of equipment to go down to say a Delco 10 or 12si??? Even one Neville would rock.
Back to the OP, any plans for the...
Sounds like the WVO is working well, gotta be safe with those alternative fuels. If you understand simple diesels and basic marine wiring, you'll have no issues with the CUCV. Everything is either mechanically, electrically, or vacuum operated. The GP controller is the most complex piece of...
I understand why the stock M1010 sucks but it has such great power potential when fixed with proper 24v wiring and a good 24 to 12 converter. Going to the other CUCV system although still powerful would be a downgrade IMO.
Nice rig!
I think all the boxes are the same but I'd check a few years on Rockauto to cross reference the numbers before buying. I would probably spend alittle extra money for a quality reman if this is a work truck. Another thing to check are the tie for ends and kingpins to make sure none are loose or...
