I do not know about Utah's laws, but in AZ if the GVWR is over 26000 and you have a Histroic plate you do not need a CDL to drive it.
In most states a M35A2 (2.5 ton) is less then 26000 GVWR so you do not need one anyway. A 5 ton is over 26000 lbs.
Castle Bravo and I headed out to pickup my M932A2 from Barstow on Sunday afternoon. We got to Barstow about 2000 hrs.
On Monday we got to the Barstow gate about 0700 and to GL about 0710. Signed in and was told to go over to the dirt lot and wait for the GL guy.
Got to the truck and did some...
It helps to remove the power and start switch, But be sure to remove the ground cable from the batteries!!!
Then it should come out 4-5 " with out removing the tach or speedo cables.
If you have the little vent line runing up the intake tower you can use that to pressurize the fuel tank. That little line is the fuel tank vent.
That is what I used to pressurize my fuel system when I was working on my m923A1.
I feel your pain, I towed a deuce with a deuce from Nellis AFB, NV back to Tonopah, AZ. You are right on the hills. I did it in the summer time also, HOT!!!
I said I would not do that again. My wife said the same....
Glad you had a safe trip home!!!
It is holding up just fine. I did not notice any difference in the sound or instllation value, But I think there would be some.
I did not do the under side of the cab, but I am thinking of doing the under side of the finders.
Good luck with the job and post some pics.
