When I got the battery box from the parts m925 (Mt Airy, NC), it had a yellowish mat liner in the bottom. Can't find it in the parts manual, but assume it's an acid neutralizing mat and I now use it under the batteries in the 757 aluminum box and under the batteries on the MEP018 battery tray...
Thanks for your reply, was actually going to ask you about produce one of your beautiful drawings to illustrate the problem. :-)
Yes, from the info provided, the damaged tire was mounted on a 7" deuce wheel.
The 12" wheel was made for tubeless tires (m656/xm757).
..."compared to a bias-ply...
I'm not a tire expert and it seems difficult to find answers to some questions no matter how hard I go ogling. Here is one question;
When a tire is mounted on a wheel that is too narrow, what is the seating angle of the bead? Would it not be tilted outwardly? Could it "slip off" the edge of the...
Don't know about the MT-6352 mount, but the MT-1029 has a link (accessible under a cover plate) to be positioned for use with or without the radio, which effects the routing of the power.
Image shows the MT-6352.
Beautiful shop!
Try this seller for your boot, I got mine from someone like him, can't remember, though. You will have to take the engine hatch covers off for access and use a large hose clamp (existing?) to keep it in place.

Like I stated, don't know, but it looks like it let go at the rim and tore up as shown.
With a wheel width 3 to 4 inches narrower than minimum specified by the manufacturer could put a lot of pressure outwardly IMHO.
The sidewalls are not built like they are on a bias ply tire and would tear...
IMHO, get the MX and use nothing but specified cables to make sure you don't feed the AM1780 wrong polarity power.
The MX will protect your equipment from power spikes generated from bad battery connections also, often "built-in" protection can't handle this kind of "load dump", where 100V...
1/2" copper tubing with inverted flare fittings. For flexible fuel line, use Stratoflex 111 ( or Aeroquip 303).
Fittings for the flexible hose should be Aeroquip #491 with the appropriate dash number.

Be careful with the wiring if you don't use the MX7777, it provides reverse polarity protection as well and the VIC-1 system will be damaged if the polarity is not correct...
Believe you are right, the 14.5R20 needs about 10 inches of rim width.
The image below is from JasonC and I'm pretty sure this kind of damage is the result of the rim (wheel) being to narrow... correct me if I'm wrong.
Agreed with dittle, your engine is hardly loaded down.
Under full load, you'll notice a difference based on fuel even and 1,200 degrees would easily be reached on a long uphill incline.
Biofuels will give you lower EGTs.
Glad so many are installing pyros now, makes for interesting statistics...
Yes, but look carefully, when shopping, the air solenoid may or may not be included. It would be fitted between the horns and the electrical "Packard" connector visible. There are some on ebay as we speak.
Happy shopping!
No, you can use the normal horn button, it's just another switch and I can see using the electric horn in some situations when it's not necessary to scare the living daylight out of somebody. :-)
Take a look at the wiring diagram, wire #25 is for the horn...air or electric.
Not a huge project.
Get the air horn and the electrically operated air valve (often comes with it), do some plumbing, add a push button switch and you are done.
The modification was done after delivery on this truck (MWO) and the horn was mounted on the outside, for lack of a better place. I...
Glad it worked out.
Kenny, I'm a couple of hundred miles West of I-66....and yes, it's nice to have the support from this site, it wasn't by accident that I asked Gary to make that decal. :-)
