Googled "differential oil pressure gauge" and steelsoldiers and this was the first hit...

Had this gauge installed on the deuce and now get similar results on the 8x8 multifuel.
The pressure drop across the two filters and the oil cooler (no port to access between them on the -2 engine) pops up to about 6 psi at first and drops to about 3 psi after five minutes at idle.
This info...
Yeah, shutting it down doesn't seem to be the problem. :-)
It's what the lever does when the engine is running that's the question, does it stick in the "off" position more or less?
I agree. From what I have learned about rubber is that the ozone and UV light will do an irreversible job on it.
The tires on my 8x8 are unique and even with all the extra "antiozonants" the military specifies, they do weather. My plan is to use them around town only and eventually get an...
So, when you let go of the pedal after revving it, the rpm falls below idle and dies.
I'd take another look at the linkages around the IP, how is the shut-off mechanism working?
To be more specific, as far as I can tell by the grain size, it's red oak, although white oak would be more durable, but tends to warp more. Green or air dried oak will eat hardware real quick because of an acid in the wood. Use kiln dried if possible.
I used (black) locust as a replacement...
If/when drilling, use left handed bits. It was suggested by Will when I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and it worked like a charm. He even sent me a set of bits, which I'm thankful for (they still come in handy from time to time).
I'd say that the "hop" you are experiencing has nothing to do with the torque rods.
It's more of a traction thing and the way the drive shafts are coupled without differentials...
I have had it happen backing uphill (off road) and more so with an empty bed than with a loaded one.
With all the new members now, I'd like to bring this up again. Anybody with "industrial" experience on the push-on type fittings?
I like them and use them on the 8x8 in particular, which, btw, came to me with fuel lines fitted with these types.
I have concerns about the temperature ratings when...
The bed is designed to move with respect to the frame and the wood serves as a "gasket" of sorts.
The ones I have worked on, including the dromedary platform of the xm757, were made of oak and have held up well after all these decades...usually 3/4 inch thick.
Edit: Wood is not a "bad" material...
Like the Chargetek 500 unit I use (used it for many years), it hooks up to both batteries individually, the "24 volt" description may be slightly misleading.
Each battery is monitored separately and the end result is that they are kept to within millivolts of each other, an important factor when...
Included in the "Ether" kit will be a thermostatic switch permanently set at 20°F, located in the area marked below. It disables the operation of the starting aid for temps above 20 degrees...
