have fun finding one in all my years in the motor pool I used it once for training. the plug can be handy as plug s and t goes straight to the starter solenoid and if you have a control box failure with a paper clip you can start the truck from that plug
I have run them that way as a young private we had a 3rd shop that wanted the front drivelines removed befor we submitted them for work. remove the front driveshaft and lock the transfer case the steer like a 2 wd truck I don't think you will pick up much on fuel milage and the wear in the...
I'm no restoration freak my love of mv's come from the fact they are all the same when a change happens it happens to the whole fleet I would not object to putting in a 6.5 td in the same dress as a m1114 has. to add on a side winder turbo or some other fabbed up turbo or ls defeats the reason...
I think that was what I had to do to the one I swapped out in theater glad you found it along with your chafed wire I will be looking mine over when it gets here to make shur the throttle isn't hitting any wires too
if the truck doesn't exceed 21.5 and has air brakes a cdl with air endorsement is required for commercial use in most states but usually private carriers for non commercial use and motorhomes are exempt.
still sounds like a bad battery or 2 get a multi meter each battery should be over 12 volts. wouldn't hurt to take them into a store like auto zone who will test the batterys for you
glad to see that im not the only one who has a wife that thinks I running around with more than trucks and dogs. glad you had a good trip, there is nothing more I would love to do than drive my newly acquired lmtv up the alcan. it costs the same to barge it out of seattle as it does out of...
I replaced quite a few 6.2's in the army with 6.5's hmmwv headers were the same and I know for a fact that the civilian manifolds will also bolt up. the intakes were different as I remember you needed a 6.5 intake if you were installing 6.5 heads on a 6.2 and the water manifold. flywheels are...
the commifornia emissions laws are stupid, and not related to year of manufacture but rather latest technology which is why you can get older engines so cheap from there, and for every truck leaving the state 2 have to have the engine demilled. my compant bought a yard tractor there several...
the 6.5 and 6.2 engines are the same on the outside, the exhaust will bolt up as will motor mounts, and flywheel. the heads are different animals on the inside, 6.5 heads will flow more volume and make for a good performance mod for a 6.2.
the m1114 series had a mile marker winch out the back that's the best idea I have ever seen. how often do you back into a bog, and get stuck usually it happens while going forward. a highlift jack can be dangerous, but can also save the day and have done so for me in the past more than once...
points need to be set before timing. a change in point gap will change timing, measuring dwell angle will just confirm the points are right and the condenser is preventing arc across the points. if you have one of the old-fashioned ignition scopes, you can see a worn distributor bushing in the...
mine was a cinch in Washington so many mil vehicles running around nobody will stop you. I did however pick up a temp registration the next day good for a week. which kept Johnny law off my back. I will have plates for it when I go down next month to move it to the barge.
on the b series I have seen the intake cover gasket blow and make a buzz sound under boost. once you rev the engine even in neutral you should be able to feel air leaking. if you have a blown gasket or loose intake cover bolt soapy water can also be used
i'll have to see how my seats work out this summer I wont ever drive more than a hundred miles with mine if im comfy good if not I will be looking for something different. at the end of the day back support is what I need the most. I don't want high backs so high that the head rest messes with...
no you really need them , with that much weight that high, wouldn't take much wind or movement to topple things over. my opinion as a licensed small crane operator,is this is displaying an unsafe act.the one thing about these trucks is that they are stable enough to swing the boom at full...
