I got my lmtv out of the gov plannet yard in Washington. all property active and guard will go through the same drmo process. mine was a guard rig, being a 94 with only 13 k on the clock and the condition of the rest of the truck verifies the odometer reading. it appeared to come out of a utes...
Looks like mine did when parked at a casino parking lot in Washington, a security officer came out and asked me to park out back with the tractor trailer trucks.
from the time I was in the guard and traveling around the country side for A-T try to find a ng rig they get a lot less use and better maintenance than the contractor maintained active duty trucks.
there is a guy in Washington who removed the fifth wheel plate, trailer wiring / brake hoses and aux trans coolers and successfully stuck an rv trailer with no undercarriage or tung on his. I didn't see it I heard it worked real nice
the 6.5 t engines had a reverse rotation fan and water
pump. the 6.5 td also had a different radiator pack with ,additional power steering coolers, and a large air to oil oilcooler and transmission cooler. the radiator was thinner likely, because of fact a turbo diesel creates less heat than...
im not a big fan of the straight stacks when it rains they fill with water and blow black garbage all over your rig. my Thiokol 2100 came that way after a stormy 3 week barge ride it must have pumped 5 gallons of water out of the stack on first fire up. the whole rig was covered in black slurry
I used to flat tow them all the time in the army, drop the t-case in natural and go. remember you will need extra room to stop, and don't use the double eared towbar attachments, as they wont have enough down ward articulation. they can pick up the rear wheels, and cause you to loose control...
the tpv valve automatically pops out when you set the park brake, so it was working right. you should not get a blast of air, when your air supply drops to around 50 psi the tpv should pop out and I think its 15 for the park brake. glad to here you are enjoying it pulling the ps pump isn't too...
I'm waiting on my truck to get here on the first barge. I do plan to use the dust separator it will require some fabrication and plumbing to make it work. in the end when I'm working around the truck I don't want the exhaust blowing around at ground level, I worked on too many bugs in the past...
being in ca could be a state reg also could be conceived as tax evasion as av gas has no road tax just like heating oil in a diesel or marine gas in a vehicle. in reality who cares if you buy av gas you pay airport tax and marine tax on marine gas I suppose its all about who gets the dough
inside the t case is a differential between the front output and rear output when the t-case locks it just locks the differential with a plate like an arb or e-locker its real simple and not much to go wrong. I suspect there is an actuator problem I haven't looked at the system yet but it is...
the exhaust coming out the side would have to do with troop transport no exhaust under any body that could be used for occupants. im planning on a vertical exhaust when mine gets here. I plan on using mine commercially so I will have to have a noise reduction device of some kind to keep the...
my opinion unless you want a project and you are capable of working on it you may want to steer clear. that truck is a hybrid, some early 5 tone components and some late model components. I,m not a restoration purist but I appreciate the mv's for their simplicity and the fact they are all the...
shop teacher had some good ideas ensure your choke is open by removing the air intake and looking at it. you realize it could be your timing as a change in point gap or dwell angle does have an effect in timing as well as coil saturation
I just read something about this in one of the 5 ton ctis threads had something to do with tires not inflated equaly forget what it was the guy who posted it was a rep from the company that builds the system
