I would think there is some type of pushrod adjustment going into the MC. That would cause a low pedal...no brake bleeding is required when installing a new hydroboost.
Yes, what Barrman said.
Also be sure to inspect either with a mirror or video bore scope the center hub area of the flexplate because that is also a common place for it to crack as well.
Even though your engine running test of 14.2 volts probably is a non-load test (GP's have turned off by then) on both the battery and alternator, I would guess new batts...
Let's not forget a good voltage drop test across the front battery terminals and the cable going to the 12v post above the GP relay. Could have a sneaky pete problem there too.
Recovry4x4...dig the avatar photo :)
I would go about it a few different ways.
One, if you want to salvage what you have...I would helicoil what you have. Since the TH400 converter in this application is a non-lockup, you can't do too much damage to it other than puncturing the metal and letting ATF come out. If it was a lock up...
I think I had a defective set of regulators after doing both rebuilds which were causing the GEN lights to flash in a very strange manner while driving. Replaced them and it went away. Agree on the rebuilds...
Be careful with what the manufacturer recommends. Some say you don't need any driveshaft work but they sell in the kit a transfer case crossmember drop and some even go as far as clocking the tcase down for the front driveshaft angle. Both of which are absurd because they offset the idea of...
The Dana 44 (manufactured by Dana) stopped being used somewhere in the late 70's as a front axle. 1980 was really the start of 10 bolt (manufactured by GM) front and rear axles in the K5 and K10. In a comparison with the front axles, you really can't compare them because they are practically the...
I imagine you are going to a single exhaust, any room on the frame rail for the filter assembly? I know they are long and you use the truck offroad but mid chassis may work???
I don't want to sound like a 6.2 hater. They are fairly easy to work on in the CUCV application, parts are cheap, and pretty reliable when serviced/upgraded correctly.
Having said that, unless you are getting a 6.5 turbo setup cheap from a JY or Ebay, I do not understand why anyone would spend...
Maybe you can move the front battery to the rear location to free up some room. Being that the cables are relatively expensive, I would avoid rerouting the bus bars. Very expensive for not a lot of gain.
First, it is a Goodyear MT tread pattern which is completely different from both the older and newer MTR pattern. The older MTR pattern is what came stock on the first gen Jeep Rubicons. You can buy a 37" surplus MT and a retreaded MTR from TreadWright.
I have the older MTR tread on my 4Runner...
A DPF is for particulate matter, NOx emissions are solved by an EGR valve and a standard reduction cat. You could install the EGR valve from an emission equipped 6.2 but your emissions label won't show that which in Cali would probably be a no go.
Either way I don't see how a state could do...
First, you can't just "add" a particulate filter. It requires a lot of computer control and electronic injection parts. Second, I'm pretty sure everything as of 2008-2010 depending on what weight class you are in requires a DPF system in place according to the Feds, not just California.
As far...
???
12 bolt won't like it either and I've never heard of a corporate dana 44. I wonder if you get one of those when you put a 10 bolt and a dana 44 in a room together overnight with a bottle of wine...
Either way, I hope ODave gets his phone plan figured out too...I like Verizon wireless.
:)
So I assume no thud from the solenoid or deflection in the voltmeter gauge? This would indicate the circuit isn't activating. If the plugs were heating up and the controller wasn't shutting off you wouldn't have an issue starting. I would be looking at a temp sensor, bad solenoid, or defective...
I call BS...how do I "wear" a mullet? Is that like being naked under my clothes???
To the original poster...I am making no judgments on stacks. I personally do not like them unless they are on an MDT, HDT, or C+C 1 ton. I understand your reasoning so I'll go with it. I would guess that your...
Thank you
My PTO generator is fully operational now so I don't really want to sell it unless you want to pay me enough to replace it with a nice quality 8000 watt diesel genset.
I would be searching Pirate4x4 inthe tech section, there should be an NP205 bible writeup. ColoradoK5 and Novak...
The covers are expensive but the nice feature is the drain/fill plugs that they usually come with. I don't know about you but I absolutely despise dropping a pan or cover that doesn't have a drain hole. We have the technology...it makes life easier. Plus you can set that thing in with RTV and...
