Just got the m1008 running and had to take it for a ride. Ive been working on it on and off for the last 5 months. I had a whole bunch of junk on the tailgate and I was just going around the circlle slow. One of the things I had on there was my glove box which fell of and then a car ran it over...
That battery is clamped down tight so there will be no movement either direction . I did put 3 washers on each threaded rod so I would not bottom out on the threads. I just wanted to see if you could achieve the same thing with out buying the aftermarket optima trays.
I have learned my lesson to keep up with them. another thing though its a 3 year warranty free replacement not prorated like some batteries. I got one for free and the other for 100 bucks so I couldent go wrong. I dont think I would buy another one though.
Just to let you guys know, that I just put a Optima battery on my rear tray using factory hold downs. When you buy a new optima it has a lid on the top and you flip it upside down and put on the bottom. This gives the same height as the 6tl. Then I moved the threaded rod to the factory holes in...
I think it is metric coarse thread.. that all I can offer. put the bolt in (do not tighten all the way) into the tc and wiggle the bolt if it does not feel right. try a metric bolt the same size. thats what I did
Mine cracked in half with the weight of the 208 on it. Ever sinces that day I've hated them. There is a reason why they did not have 700r4 in 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, But if it works for you I wish you the best luck.
700's are junk. There is not one good thing about them. Your 400 should have gone way past 10000 miles. someone rebuilt it wrong or something. they can take tons of abuse.
