Welcome to the site and the hobby. Now you can link up with members, and it's a sure thing that when you get a ride (or drive?) you will be smitten with the green bug.
Welcome to the site and the friendships advice's and Mass of information available to you and for your super nice looking truck. It looks awesome, We hope to to see it (and your crew) at the War and Peace revival this year. And yes we (all) love our trucks over here and using them on our...
Wish you good luck with that problem though. Military vehicles and computers don't seem to function all that well at all. Basic and simple was good tough and reliable. Just my 1/2 penn'eth
There Ya' go then, (I'm not at all too familiar with those trucks) You can now trace from that unit, (and the master cylinder itself) and I reckon you will soon have the problem sorted out. Please post up your findings.
If you like the truck, it's features and design functionality, and the price is right for you (the collection seems to be), then I would buy it. Research "chassis and frames" (google) and read up the wealth of information there. Including safety and longevity after welding or cutting etc. This...
If the fluid is OK, clear, Is the vehicle fitted with a restrictor (brake check/balancer) to the rear wheel brakes? (usually on top of and center of the rear axle) I believe the are (should be(and)) I would be checking that first. Let us know what sorted the problem when you fix it. And CHECK...
If I (had to) own one of those trucks, first job after hearing of those repeated problems would be, Skip (as in bin) the ballast relay, and coil. And simply replace with a 12volt coil. Why suffer? Job done.
(Rich, Ah-lah Early Vauxhalls etc).
I have never done it. (as) Fitting air power steering works just fine. I have an extra air tank, and can turn lock to lock stationary, not much more to ask in my book. Oh, and there is that (very) satisfying hiss-hiss on every crank of the wheel..good for spectators. As the 5ton has (virtually)...
Crikey! that changed my considering getting an expansible van..I will stick with my multifuel 70mph, 15 mpg*, M54a2 camper conversion now.
*I always drive at 2000 rpm. (15mpg). and never exceed 55 mph. 16s and careful steady driving = these stats.
Our mockup support IS stable. (as it (the truck)) is "supported" by (the) 8 wheels firmly planted (and chocked) at the rear.. On reflection, with the vertical component of 4, 4x4s plus the cross supports it would hold a complete truck on top weight wise.
when I had to leave my truck with the axle hanging years ago (before fork truck etc) we made a Bumper stand with vertical 4x4 wooden posts and cross members. I still have that homemade ( cheap and easy) truck raiser, only used it 3 times so far.
We've been following this saga with great interest, but rather sorry you had to let the wrecker depart, I keep saying I will cut down..but when one starts and I drive it...you KNOW the score....And THAT sound!

We are all waiting for pictures and video with write ups as you proceed with your trip. As someone mentioned in an earlier post keep the rpms around 2000, 2250, reliable engine and truck component speed..assuring a safe and reliable trip home. Ok, not so quick as a local run..but that is just a...
Now THAT is one heck of an interesting and rare vehicle. What a project! Lucky you. This is going to be a real treat as you post up (Please) pictures and details of the restoration.
