Thought that event was in Western Australia at first, but do hope you have a great attendance and good show to enjoy. Some pictures of the event would be nice on your return.
Welcome to the site hobby friendships, and the events to come. That is a major job you are taking on and you deserve credit and encouragement for attempting it. So keep the reports of progress coming, and of course the obligatory pictures as well.
The M561 is a rare item over here, worth quite a bit (at least £10,000) BUT, there is just no money around the hobby at this point in time..and nothing but nothing is selling hardly, and we see the same vehicles re-appearing on sales sites..to no avail. I did manage to sell a jeep, and the F350...
I also am curious for the story behind that avatar. And,
It does sound filter, pressure loss related. Which would account for starting after standing. Run a pipe or tube straight from the (or any tank) and see if it runs correctly full time.
OK..Is it me or my computer? But I see no post (write up) only three replies..odd that...I would add a "welcome" etc but don't know who I am making welcome...
Good luck on your (very long(and courageous)) drive. Sounds like a good truck to do it with. Enjoy the experience and post pictures of course. Keep at or below 2000 R.P.M. and you should cruise uneventfully home.
Bought at a fair price, ( the price you feel happy to acquire it for (6000 good, 4500 better and a "snip")) A stock of wire brushes sanding tools and paint, plus time , (And a lot of enthusiasm) will get that truck looking really good. Go to it. Good luck, keep us informed.
