My AC voltmeter 72-5008 on my MEP-003a has gone south and was looking for a replacement, however most online vendors want $$ for an exact replacement.
I saw a Video on YouTube done by Dan Walton which shows that he replaced meters with a GV25 digital meter, but no where do I see how to wire one...
You might also think about opening a "Parts Wanted" Thread, when you know exactly what you need. It helps if you list the parts by NSN and Part Number also.
The starter interrupter, S7 I think, is the reason I brought up starter clash. The S7 can lead to clash, or the starter not engaging. Its a fine line. Easy to test and adjust. But a quick test, to see if its S7, is to jump from TB4-3, to TB4-12, 13 and 14. They are all the same potential. You...
Jon,
Welcome to the forum. You could start a "Parts Wanted" thread, and that will help you find the missing parts. You should also start your own thread on your generator. That way your questions and answers do not get mixed up with the other questions and answers. Better visibility and much...
Are you getting a failure code? Normally, if the CIM shows a "no engine oil pressure" failure, the gen set will stop running. There will be a fault code displayed.
By: The CRT says no oil pressure, you mean that the gage shows no pressure, or that the CRT gives you a message that there is no...
Because you need to hold the start switch a little bit longer to always get the main gen to excite, some times you can get a bit, or a lot, of clash. Its easy to adjust.
I would say you have a good gen set. Also say, you did good work.
No starter clash?
When load testing, ease it up from no load to full load. Let it run a while at each stage. Look at the exhaust. If the exhaust starts spitting carbon, just let it run till it stops.
DC volt regulators were...
Well, let me know when you will be here, and the route you take. Might be able to meet for a coffee, unless you spend the night. Then we could drink a beer and maybe sample some of my home brew. If you take the Autobahn 9, you will pass about 45-50 klicks from the house. Your trip, is only about...
Lets take a look see, just what has power here, when the set is in the run position. Thats when the CB pops, right?
The very first thing I would do is remove every wire from S1 and rehook them up as per the wire diagram. Then try it again.
If it still pops, then take the wire off terminal...
The meter is not world famous for preciseness. Take it with several grains of salt. I would maybe get a temp gun and measure what the temp actually is, then decide what to do. Maybe drain, flush and refill the system first. LOOK at the thermostat. Get a couple gaskets.
