Someone posted a step by step how to modify the reconnection board, etc in these to single phase a while back. Internally they are 12 lead generators, just the reconnection board and stock instrumentation is not designed for single phase operation. Ike

Just remember the majority of the generator heads you find on ebay are going to be 3600 rpm 2 pole units, and you will need an 1800 rpm 4 pole. The easiest solution may be to find a MEP-002a with a bad engine. Ike
