One more REMOTE possibility. You say the engine is a BCIII. IF it is an MVT and someone built it with the 100 heads, the push tube cavity is too small and when the MVT advances the timing, the PT hits the head casting. It does this exact thing. It takes a while to do it because the PT only hits...
It went in the pan. DO not run it any more 'till you drop it and get it out. Baaad things can happen. Look at the cam real good and inspect the follower to make sure the shaft isn't broken. Also, look at the block closely at the rod throw area. The PT usually wraps itself around the crank and...
Sounds like a dead miss. If there are no unusual noises, i'd rule out a push tube or a cam issue. At cold start, go feel the exhaust manifold. The cold one is the failed cylinder. You'll have about 2 mins to pick it out before the heat radiates through the manifold. It is normal for the two...
You installed a new FP...is that the in tank pump, booster pump at the rear of the IP or the whole IP? Did it do this before the replacement? Does it idle when cold?
Good thinkin'!
Depends on the chrome. Old school stuff, yes you can without any popping, burning etc. If it's newer Chinese made stuff, nope dot com. It will pop, splatter and bubble the "chrome".
I can't believe in this day and age that NOBODY knows how to search for things.

Yes. Those are found on super 10 dump trucks alot. Not as big as a super single but is large enough to reduce the wt of the truck and still handle the load. Me thinks Michelin makes them.
Gimp, Sounds like an intake or exhaust leak.
Check the hose and clamps from the turbo to manifold and the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets.
Turbo bearings don't make noise man. They aren't a bearing with moving parts.
I dunno, the wrist pin is a high stress area. If it were me, I'd mic the old ones and reuse them rather than use the NOS ones. You have no idea if those are surface blems or if the flaws go throughout the pin. Not only that, each time the cylinder fires, it puts downward force on the pin. Those...
Whay G-Force said is correct for a dead miss. A Bosch style injector is a normally closed device. When the pressure developed by the pump overcomes the opening set pressure of the spring in the injector, the injection starts. When the pressure falls off, that is the point when injection...
How old were the PM's? There have been some glitches, the latest about 3-4 weeks ago.
There is a setting. Go to "user CP" in the top tool bar. When that opens there will be a split screen. On the left side labeled "control panel" there is a heddar, "settings and options". 5th line down is "edit...
Get all the old gasket material out of the filter bases, use a torque wrench when installing or you will have a leak or shear the pin in the tube and don't let the cans turn while troqueing them. The gasket will be cut and you'll be taking the cans off again. Oh yeah, wait a half hour to pull...
