The aluminum front fairlead on these winches are not strong enough for side pulls I am looking into remaking mine in steel.

They require synthetic cable on rock crawlers in competition, so I am sure it will hold up to regular winching but was wondering if there is a downside other than price? Also the price difference on the crane is not so much and the safety factor is so much higher it also looks like it would...

Also has anyone replaced their cable with synthetic cable? I would use the same size to increase the strength/safety, I would like to hear any down sides to this idea.

Would a graphite lube be good if not better because it doesn't hold dirt to the cable?

No on reverse engine it drove fine as it started to leak I like the pressure buildup but not sure why it wouldn't do it again.

The axle will move a lot but the popping noise may or may not be bad. It might be a bad control arm or may just be the spring hitting inside the mount. These trucks make lots of little noises, let someone else back it in slow while you watch and listen.

I would say yes you want the spring but not 100% so I will ask at the engine shop and see.

ouch that's on the high side but not bad for agm's I but new wet cell 6tm batteries at napa or Oreillys around 200.00 each if you look you can get them at most part houses.

I beg to differ but if you started with a 923 or 927 preferably a a2 model you could build what he wants for less than his budget and have a safe ride.

Are you checking your air pressure before you roll? These tires look okay at lower air pressures than you should run on the road. And lots of them are really to old by the time some of these trucks are sold. Check the date codes on your tires.

Mineral spirits? Brake or carburetor cleaner? This stuff won't damage the fiber core?
