Y'all are missing a great time at Tims, thanks for putting on this show to Tim and all Tim's family and friends! I will be here for all of it next year.
Come on wrecker people (I know we have at least one female wrecker owner) chime in here. I also keep a MRE onboard for those long out in the middle of nowhere recoveries.
Okay hang on guys uncle put a lot of 16 and up kids in a deuce with a fairly good outcome I would say it has a proven safety record with kids his age. If someone will take a little time to show him the right and wrong ways of operating a deuce we might be making another great Steel Solider. Heck...
Get the valve and all the lines and tank off of a 818 or a 816 and the tank gage selector while you are at it, makes a complete bolt in kit, no fuel lines in the cab and all stock parts, so you or someone else can fix it later. Only thing you have to do different is a switch for the different...
Best thing I like is gas on a rag and leave the mushroom on just wrap it lightly around and start it up it doesn't ever make a diesel hard to turn over or rattle like ether Wd-40 used to work well but they changed propellants to something not as flammable.

nfx6 I lived in your part of the world and would think that the flapper would be the way to go or the capplugs, you will have way more problems with dust and critters than water.
As to water yes, but uncle puts flappers on some and as to keeping it shut a slight bend at the pivot point should work.
I have had a M35 and a M816 that had holes drilled in the low spots worked on them no rust.
Okay here's my two bits I have probably cranked more different 939 series trucks than anybody on this site most all been sitting two years or more and something you learn quick is to watch for water in the exhaust when you slave off a truck. So here's what we get in rain soaked south...
Nope my wrecker has green covers! Much easier to read at night. Also they make a blue set for use with NVG's. And clear covers for the new led lights and purple for highbeams.
