Welcome to the site hobby and freindships. From what I have read in previouse posts, I gathered that if equiptment or items shown before auction were missing at collection, then some recompense or action for the purchaser could be taken. Have you checked anything relating to this possibility...
Nice looking orriginal truck. A good project and save. Keeps us informed of progress with pictures. Body width difference is 8 inches, so your plan should work ok. Google it ( wickepedia) for exact specifications of both trucks.
Yes. My V.W. Polo will only start and run good after two heats In this cold weather. Sometimes it is good to Heat, crank breifly, Heat again, Away it goes. Same applies to a lot of deisels in the coldest weather. However, Repeated heats if required point to a time to change the glow plugs.
That could be a faulty gen set, Ours did that, but when we incresed the RPMs the voltage went up correspondingly. On the Onans the RPMs dictate Voltage available. Wish I could help more. Perhaps get an electrician to check the windings?.
What a great winter project. And lucky not to be missing the rear seat (like ours was). Your collection is steadily growing. post progress with pictures please.
If it will not pump up, and the fluid level in the master cylinder is going down, you have major leak in that wet drum. Untill you have a proper seal you will not attain any true pressure. As you also will not if the brakes are way out of adjustment. Having said that Try undoing the outlet pipe...
OK welcome to the site and the hobby. Download the T.Ms applicable to your chosen vehicle, and read up on maintanance and servicing. Then try to locate a S.S. Member near to you to get aquainted with and perhaps handle one. Good luck.
It is your truck, so any modification you do to improve it for funtionality and your pleasure is a worthy cause. That is a project that will definately give you great staisfaction once you have acclompished it. Anyone oberving the finished result would be nothing but impressed.
good luck on your trip..After all your checks, just keep up a steady cruise at minimum throttle, take breaks, and you should be good. ost pictures keep us informed of your progress.
I really wish my collection of M series trucks had lockers, especially the deuces, they are forever getting stuck in the swampy parts of our land while working. The zill ural and the kraz had single wheels and locks all round, never got stuck.
That sounds like a filter problem. There is another post on here with much the same symptoms as your having. I think some of the advice there might be helpfull to you. Those 1009s seem to have problems in the winter. (waxing?)
