Hey Marti, I don't do much in the cold...if there was snow here, that would be different, but mud, ice, sleet, freezing rain, just not enjoyable.
We don't have the engine TM on the site, do we? (TM 5-2805-204-14)
About shortening the bed, for you consideration, I mounted mine about 2 inches further to the rear and cut the "horns" off the front edge.

There are in fact circuit breakers protecting most of the wiring. Usually not shown is the CB within the 3-lever light switch, which is a 20 amp breaker.
The starting system is not protected, but under operator control .
The CBs are mounted on the firewall on the engine side near the steering...
Looks like a good install, dabtl.
Some history may be in order, the first solid state flashers from the '60s featured an SCR design that could handle a short circuit load until the circuit breaker tripped. Later designs may or may not have any short circuit protection with its power transistor...
Good save!
About the towbar details, don't mount the feet upside down as shown in this image, the bar can't swing down and breaks. I learned during a test drive in a field.,....at least the pins were the correct ones....
The basics.
The coolant filter is a "bypass" filter, it filters a small part of the coolant and returns the filtered coolant to the main stream, which is now diluted with clean coolant, the diluted coolant is then filtered again and the cycle repeats. It may take an hour for all coolant to be...
24 hours? It probably takes a lot longer from what I have read/experienced. Years ago I tested one of the Pulsetech (120 VAC powered) and noticed no change after a week, so I sold it....now I think a month would be a reasonable time to run it. Oh well...
Edit: Sulfation is a normal part of the...
More on the "state of charge" testing, keep in mind that it's a chemical process and the proportion of acid to water tells the story.
If the open circuit voltage test does not agree with the specific gravity test, then your battery may be sulfated. Running a pulsetech(?) solargizer device for a...
Do you have a scan of the spec from a military manual, by chance?
This is how the transmission fluid was specified for my 6-speed Allison for the xm757 in the 1960's.
I keep it at 1,200-1,500 rpm and gear in 3rd....
As you may or may not know, there is a speed control attachment for the IP when using the transfer pto to keep the rpm constant regardless of loading. The M49 tanker came with it and it's covered in the -20 TM.
