I have two rubber tubing runs on the front of my SEE engine. One of the lines has been cut in half. The upper portion has been taped off with electrical tape. The portion of the tubing on the bottom is open and not taped off. I have no idea what function this hose performs. I'm assuming I...
You can normally tell if a pump is running by touching it and feeling the vibrations when it clicks. I've also used a listening stick for this purpose.
Another thing to consider is what do you do if the SEE breaks down? Your only piece of equipment is now out of commission and you likely have a deadline.
Does anybody know what these holes are in my hood? I'm assuming that they are unused on a SEE, but have a purpose on civilian Unimogs, such as trim? I've looked at photos of two other SEEs and haven't seen those holes. The four holes are centered, two close together a few inches from the...
Permatex has two different anti-seize products. One is called 'Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant' and has small particles of copper in it. They advertise that it is primarily designed to be used on stainless steel or similar alloys. The other product is called 'Anti-Seize Lubricant Advanced...
Generally you can just clean out the ones you have to stop the leakage. Or replace them with affordable ball valves.
Thanks! Your advice was spot on. I cancelled my order for the new drain valves. I removed the old ones and I was amazed at how much trash came out. The two on the tanks...
I'm finally making some great progress on my SEE. I now have brakes after repairing the pneumatic system. The crossover pipe was corroded solid. I decided to go with a 10 mm 316 stainless steel replacement. Unfortunately, I had to purchase a Ridgid 10 mm tubing bender, which I will now...
Thanks for the photos. You have a very nice looking truck! The grill looks like something I can easily fabricate. Is it constructed out of plastic or metal?
I have to tell you, I have had two different vehicles with Pertronix ignition systems. Both Pertronix systems failed and the failure mode for both sounds virtually identical to your situation. I trashed the Pertronix systems in both, going back to original points and condenser and never had...
I'm wondering about the grill for a FLU419 SEE. If you look at Item 21 on the attachment, a grill of sorts is shown in the TM. The TM calls it (Panel, Ventilation). My SEE does not have this. Actually, I have never seen a SEE with this installed. Does anyone have a SEE that has this grill...
This won't answer your question, but I have a suggestion. I purchased an inexpensive UPS for my modem and router that will keep them alive for several hours or at least until I bring my generator online. I've found this to be very useful since we have a large number of power outages.
The lines you would need to switch are what I called Line 1 that feeds pressure to the winch from the main energizing switch. The other line that needs to be switch is the line that feeds pressure to the main energizing switch, which is the bottom line going to the switch. I have no idea where...
