I just made a run to town in my deuce to get more diesel fuel. The highways are completely clear and dry, but I'm way back in the woods and the road to my place still has much snow and a lot of thick ice. I still can't get my F250 4 X 4 out but my M35 has no problem.
The generator is still running. A total of 41 hours now of almost continuous use. Although the MEP003A has never used any oil, I'm going to shut down for a few minutes this morning and check the oil. It got down to 18 deg F last night, so the generator was most appreciated. My neighbors...
Woke up this morning freezing in bed. EMC power went back out again last night. They replaced the faulty transformer yesterday so I don't know what the problem is today. We had more snow last night, currently ~10 inches and still snowing. Maybe a tree came down on a line. I'm located way...
Power has been out over 7 hours now and the temp is supposed to be down to 24 deg F. tonight. The MEP003A is running at about 45% load and keeping the house warm. We now have over 7 inches of snow and another 3 - 5 inches is expected tonight. I get colder and more snow where I'm located due...
The snow is really coming down here in Hiawassee, GA. We are now up to 5-1/2 inches and getting deeper. I lost power from Blue Ridge Mountain EMC about two hours ago and have been running on the MEP003A for about two hours now. These gensets are great. As always, started right up. I don't...
I just received the latest copy of Army Motors from the MVPA, Number 161. There is a pretty good article on WWII radios. Also, the inside of the front cover of the Army motors side of the magazine shows the inside of a K18 and discusses the radios in the K18 / K19.
I've had a setback. I've had my M35A3 mostly loaded for departure. Unfortunately, the wife volunteered my M35A2 deuce to haul heavy pallets of road pavers for a local Towns County 4H project. I'm a big supporter of 4H, so I went along. I took the brick pavers to the site in my deuce and the...
I'm just about ready to go. My M35A3 is pressure washed and all fluids checked. I'll be bringing a trailer, but not sure which one yet. Probably either my M149A2 water buffalo or my XM1061E1. I'll be leaving Wednesday afternoon and departing Durhamtown on Saturday afternoon.
Make absolutely sure you have the cab reinforcement plate installed. Even with the plate installed, there is a lot of cab flexing from the weight. I would highly recommend that you have at least one helper during the install and preferably more. I did the installation solo and that was not a...
My whole house has been running on my MEP003A for about 4 hours now. The unit has never let me down. It burns about 1 gallon of diesel per hour, but the advantage is that it runs the whole house, HVAC, ovens, etc. I've had it for quite a few years now. It has never even used any oil. One of...
You need to follow the directions in Post #6. Remove the cover and spray down with penetrating oil or you are likely to have a repeat problem. This is not hard to do.
