I purchased an original canvas troop strap that I was told would fit my M35A2. It turned out to be identical to the M35A2 strap with the exception that it was too short, even extended to it's maximum length. I sold it to a friend with a Dodge M37 and it fit that truck perfectly. I would query...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! I spent two years in Germany near Giessen in the early 70s while in the Army. More recently, I've spent a lot of time in Germany in Neuwied and Braunschweig on business. I love visiting Germany.
I just paid my last premium - $292.18 for six months. This is a State Farm commercial policy for non-commercial use.
For those insuring deuces as pickup trucks. Be very careful. That is considered fraud and if you get in an accident, the insurance company can refuse the claim. No way can a...
One important fact that people need to be aware of is that the minimum insurance requirements in most states to insure a vehicle are just that - minimal. In many states the minimal liability coverage is $10K. Even if you are driving a small car, $10K of liability insurance is not sufficient...
If you just had the starter rebuilt, they should have checked out the solenoid. I would take it back to the starter shop that rebuilt it and complain. Are you certain that they rebuilt the starter? A faulty solenoid could have been the original problem.
It sounds to me like you have already identified the issue. The starter solenoid is hanging up. Don't try to start the engine again until you fix it or you will damage the starter.

Also, is it running smoothly? You never want to idle an MEP003A and it should be shut down at normal operating RPM for 60 Hz, but try reducing the RPMs for a slow idle for a few seconds and see if it is running evenly.
Mine is an early 98 with a steel hood and it has the floor mat and insulated soft top. However, my soft top was the same as an A2, it had simply deteriorated and the foam had expanded to become thicker and crumble all over. It has now been replaced by a new GMA top. I have seen a lot of A3s...
I had to run my house from my 003 last night for about 5 hours. Kept the AC going. I don't store extra diesel. I always keep the tanks on my two deuces full and pull from them with the auxilliary pump. If you have a diesel powered vehicle, this works great and you don't have to worry about...
Unfortunately, burning hydrogen in a vehicle has one big drawback. Hydrogen is a very small atom and it is extremely difficult to keep fuel systems tight enough to prevent hydrogen leakage. Utilization of propane or natural gas as a fuel is much easier. Also, although the combusion of...
There are a lot of conflicting opinions on Interstate 6TL batteries. My A2 that I picked up several years ago had Interstate 6TLs in it and one finally failed this year. They both had date codes of 2005, so they provided around 7 years of service from them. I bought new 6TLs as replacements. I'm...
I think you have dead batteries. It could be bad batteries, bad alternator, etc. If you have jumper cables, charge the batteries one at a time with your car using jumper cables. Before charging, check the electrolyte level as rickf suggested above. Make sure you use distilled water to bring...
Turn on the headlights. Are they bright? This is a qucik and dirty method of checking batteries. Start with the simple things first. Don't assume you have a bad relay or solenoid. I would remove all battery cables and clean the terminals. Charge the batteries. If you don't have a 24 V charger...
