That hose setup is one of the worst cases of bad engineering I have ever seen. Everytime the wheel is turned, that hose flexes and tears very quickly. I shortened mine and lengthened the two air lines that feed into it and let them take the flexing instead. It works much better that way.
I've used 24087 on my A2 engine and it holds up great. I've not used 383 on an engine, but I did use 383 green on the exhaust stack of my A3 and it is failing rapidly.
If the in-tank pump is working properly you can hear the fuel being returned to the tank when the master is on with the engine not running. I don't know how well you filter the WMO, but it needs to be well filtered. I would start from scratch.
1. Make sure air filter isn't clogged.

I work with radioactive materials daily and have access to all kinds of radiation survey instruments. Anyone in the North Georgia area that ever wants to get their MV and especially their gauges tested, please send me a PM. I will also bring instruments to the 2012 Georgia Rally if anyone...
I went back today and looked at the halftrack again. It is still there, although another guy was manning the site. He informed me that they have had a significant number of phone calls due to my thread. He also said that he believes the family will take $2500.00 for it. This is undoubtedly a...
I've seen a lot of these for sale on Ebay. There have been a lot of guys removing the CTIS from A3s so you should be able to find them easily, perhaps for free.
Get the VIN and registration number from the left front frame rail and post on Carnac's 2012 VIN Info thread. Use Search and you will find many posts on how to find the VIN and registration number. You may also find the registration number on the inside of the map box lid. Make sure you...
I wouldn't order a new fuel pump just yet. If the pump is running and the pump is intact, the pump is likely not the problem. You can test the fuel pump by running it disconnected from the line and check the output. Make certain that there are no holes in the hose and definitely replace all...
There is only one filter on an A3 - there is no primary filter. The only filter present on an A3 is in plain sight on the drivers side of the CAT 3116. On an A3 it is also important to clean the check valve on top of the engine.
However, this thread concerns an A2, which has a primary and...
Are you certain that you were actually injecting ether? Did you smell ether? There is almost no way the engine wouldn't have fired if you injected ether.
Place a length of chain through the lunette. Take the other end and tie it to an anvil, or some other very heavy piece of steel or concrete. My anvil is 106 Lb. I find it best to place a prybar or piece of pipe across the anvil and have two people move the anvil as fast as they can, one person...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! You not only need the gun ring and legs, but you also need a cab reinforcement plate installed in your cab if there isn't already one installed. This is critical because of the excessive weight of the ring and legs flexing the cab. You will destroy your cab if this...
You can usually tell if the races are driven in all the way by the sound made when you hit the drift with the hammer. When in all the way, the sound changes from a dull ringing sound to a higher pitched bell like sound. The races should drive in easily and when the race stops moving you're in...
Terry McClanahan is the one that put me on to using Right Stuff, it it's really good. Terry is absolutely an expert at everything A3. I found it at NAPA.
Make sure you follow the TM when installing the race and retainers. You need to seal the parts with adhesive to make everything air tight. I used Permatex Right Stuff, and it doesn't take much. I also used Right Stuff when sealing the cork plug. I used several small pieces of cork coated...
