Don't know about the HP/torque limit. The easy way to turn it up, drill the ball out of the throttle shaft and give it a 1/4 turn CCW at a time 'till you like the power. Watch the smoke, get a pyro. 1400 max.
RE: It is alive!
Nice! Was there a radiator in it? You can idle one of these...or any diesel ...all day long w/o coolant. As soon as you make HP...moving the thing it's installed in...you will hang pistons. Not a good thing. Would hate tho see you have engine issues. Be careful.
I'm not a jeep guy, just thought this was cool, but odd. The guy who owns this jeep bought it from a man who got it from the military back in '56 or around there. It is a factory Willys rebuild...has the Willys tags on the frame. It has Sears locking hubs! Just thought it was different, thought...
Re: RE: Where to get ubolt for mounting the M-66 legs to the
Sorry, just got back to this thread. They were in the truck when I got it. Have you tried a place that makes/repairs leaf sptings? They can make any size u-bolt you need
Re: RE: Ground is good
Tom, I disagree. A meter is the best way to go. The circuit needs to be checked. With a test light, you introduce a seperate, false ground. The meter will allow the tester to check the resistance of the circuits using the power and ground/return of the part being tested...
Re: RE: Re: MV Restoration Shop Recommendations
While browsing this thread, I thought I remembered reading an article in MV mag...couldn't remember who it was about. M-Series rebuild. That's who it was. I think it was 2 issues ago. Good write up.
I got an xtra set of sides to put on the trailer that doesn't have them, but 1 side is missing the top board with the bow holders on it. Anyone got a ruined side that has the holders on it that they want to sell?
RE: boots
I just put two boots on that I got from Antelope Valley. They are identical to the KCGonzo ones. Sorry devilman96, they are in the same state and I get them the next day  . It took 3 hands to put them on, but they haven't popped off yet. I have only put 30 miles on them.
Ace is right, buy a gasket set. There's a guy on e-gay that has them for 175? Complete ovh set with new style head gaskets. But, I have a couple of v/c gaskets if you need them. PM me if so.
Don't know if I could get a copy of the letter.I'll ask. It is Tom from ITC...the bone yard in Fontana. He did some bickering with them..told DOD that he has the means to do it at his place in Ca. , but not in Pa. I was out at their place Thursday on the way home from Barstow. He is still...
Patric, Try this. Wesport converts the diesel into LNG direct injection. Long...50 hrs worth of work..process, and expensive. But I have run these on the dyno and they work as well as the diesel fired ISX. Same HP, torque and the driveability is nice too.
