If ether is directly injected into the IP, there is no lubrication. Diesel fuel acts as a lubricant for the IP. If starting fluid (ether) is sprayed into the intake, there is no problem.

I agree. I would use SO cable from the GenSet to the transfer switch on the house. Make sure you have a fourth conductor in the SO cable to run the trailer/genset ground to the house. You don't want to ground the trailer separately.

My 1969 Kaiser Jeep has three grease fittings on the pintle. Makes it easy to move around. I think if I had a Deuce or other truck that didn't have grease fittings I'd swap out the pintle for one that did.
