You need to worry about the paint itself. Depending when it was painted last, if it has CARC paint on it, that is a bad juju paint, as in, cancerous if you end up breathing it. Look through the forum for other threads regarding it.
there's a ton of threads about prepping and painting. what...
Holy... talk about a crappy day! Looks like we'll get a good idea on how GP will react to this.
Hope it all gets worked out quickly!
Side question, this wouldn't have come up during the SF97/EUC process?
The cab marker lights should come on in service drive. Double check your relays and circuit breakers. you can also pull one of the bulbs to verify the part number. it should be a 12v bulb NOT a 24v bulb.
As for the workshop box. I'm not sure. Again, make sure your relays and CBs are set...
If you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands!
Actually glad to see a picture of it. I've been trying to guess how big it would look in my M880, but don't have one on hand, now I know what it's supposed to look like!
Great video Gimpy.
And yes, the caging bolts should be there on the LMTVs. I've had to cage a truck here and the bolts were in the correct storage place (and filled with dirt)
PBR, you really need to look at the manuals, the Family of Medium Tactical Vehilces (FMTVs) of which the LMTV is a part of, run a dual 12v/24v system. You should be able to tap off something as there are unused connections in the relay box (Radio, additional lighting, etc..)...
Considering it's been used as a plow, there's an issue kit, and it weighs in between 16k-18k, I think it'd be ok. Drop some sand in the bed if you're worried.
1) sure
2) the Technical manuals
3) enough...?
I would not recommend the stock hydraulic system to run what you are looking at. I wouldn't believe there is enough "extra" in this system to do that.
Is there a reason you are looking at a pusher box vs. a standard plow?
Army has them.

PS Magazine Post Script, August 2008: M1078 LMTV SNOW PLOW KIT
In heavy snow, you'll need the snow plow kit for your M1078A0 LMTV, NSN 3825-01-509-5922. It costs about $10,000...
managed to bang the SpeedOut out... I did drill out the bolt, attempted the next size up speed out (the #4, largest in the kit), with no luck. drilled out again, tried the #4 with no luck... actually managed to make my 18v DeWalt smoke from torque-ing on the bolt. Liberal application of PB...
Welp... Busted the "SpeedOut" bit that I was using... sheared it right off. I've drilled out the bolt to the max of my capabilities. Any remnants of the bolt outside of the mirror bracket are gone... the largest speed out will grip it, but still no movement on the bolt itself. I either need a...
Busted the drivers side rear view mirror bolt trying to get it off. Thought I had broken it loose... managed to shear it off. PB Blaster is working on it... batteries in the drill are charging and going to see if I can attack it with my (thankfully just purchased) broken/stripped bolt bits...
I've looked at this auction twice now... I don't see it. There's only one theory... and it's pretty hairy... there's something inside that truck, that you can't see. and the guys bidding on it are in the know. AKs in the fender? gold in the fuel tank? Pocket nuke under the passenger seat...
Bob, is your speedometer operating correctly? The only reason I ask, is that Suprman's truck was shifting high, but one of my LMTV mechanics said that a inop or damaged speedo would cause this issue. Just a thought.
