Was just looking at the one I'm holding today and was going to tell you about the additional diagnotstic port just right of the steering column at the bottom of the dash, next to the data panel, but Supr got it. :-P

My M880 Thread (pics plus bonus M882)

apparently they tried installing some tires on a Ford 16.5 rim and it "got all messed up so we don't do them anymore" said the lady (employee) walking past the service adviser talking to me... My local off-road shop, the one I go to for non-warranty or upgrade stuff on my Ram 2500 said they would.

My M880 Thread (pics plus bonus M882)

Well ended the "desperate" search for the mirrors, got a set of NOS replacement mirrors (NSN box and everything, packed in 1986) from Saturn Surplus. I'm going to try to install them tomorrow morning. the FD did flip the originals, so these will be going back to the correct orientation. I've...

What is the grille guard from?

HMMWV. the viewer's right of the grill is more open due to the blackout light. Plus, width with lack of height would make it pretty unusable for anything else.

Picking up LMTV Monday in Colorado

Bring a small set of 12 and 24v relays and a few 10, 15, 20, and 25 AMP circuit breakers. Just in case. you don't know what's good and what isn't. LMTV is 12v lights, so less issue getting spares, but might want to have headlights on hand or at your first stop, esp if you plan on driving at...

    Vehicle bumper markings

USMC, that'd be about right, 5th Army, 816th Quartermaster Battalion (possibly company) and vehicle designation X-13... not sure where you'd have an X-Ray company in the Army, but the pass side makes sense.

value of restored original MB vs. restored MB with repro body

I'd rather see a Juan tub on than the loss of the vehicle. At what point does all the patching replace the tub? and Value is in the eye of the buyer. you may find someone willing to pay more for a Juan tub simply because they know that they won't have random rust issue spots where the last...

    M1078 little additions & mods

This was the brother/sister to ProximityX's LMTV. This is also the one that I used to pull Shandi's out from base. it's a great truck. It came out of the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (SWIC as we call it). only issue that was on it when it was with me was an inop speedometer. Didn't...
