Ryan, these may work for you. Just read the spec and install them accordingly.
I like to use mil spec relays, which are hermetically sealed, typically made by Leach or Cutler Hammer. Do a search. About $12-15 ea...
Thanks, Wreckerman, it makes sense. The cab is huge on these things, but with the engine, spare tire, air intake filter, heater, ducting, batteries and two seats, still not a lot of space for a radio.
A longshot, I know, but does anyone have pictures of any radio installations for the M656/XM757 8x8's?
In service with the Pershing units in Europe, they convoyed and must have had radio communications IMHO...could be wrong, radio blackout....
I don't see any antennas, though.
Thanks,
I have a 5-ton winch for sale w/wire rope chain and hook. With parts from yours you should be able to get it all back to normal. It's from an M656 8x8 but the same winch. Details in the classified section.
Guess Avon Lady in an MV comes to mind. :-)
Anyway, I'm happy about the close match of 24084 FS595B to the original.
Anybody worked with Randolph Products for paint?
With the lighting being what it is , this is what the sample patches look like this morning. The 24084 as marked to the far right. The two samples in the center are Aervoe and Gillespie 24087, definitely more brown.
I'm going for the 24084 for the 8x8. Thanks David for the information!
Now for a...
The shocks I use are slightly larger than the originals and are marked "Meritor T112 7SA".
The mounting hole had to be enlarged to accommodate the larger stud dia. A Unibit did the job.
Image shows my right front tire after almost 5,000 miles of highway driving. Only one driving axle and...
This should help you get the picture. :-)

Re: RE: Paint samples, decisions decisions
Not really, but they have good colors right out of the can and many to choose from.
David Doyle suggested 24084. I ordered a can of Aervoe 24084 and it arrived today. I do like it, it's more green than the 24087 and still a dark olive drab.
I'll...
Pulled the tie rod from the oil bath a while ago and it's as smooth as the first one. Easy to turn by hand and very tight. I do wonder how they were when they left the assembly line 37 years ago...
As far as penetrants, the one end of the tierod that I did yesterday had been soaked for a couple...
A tierod cook-out. :-)
It's suspended from the ceiling and only the ball joint is in the oil.
The cap of the ball joint housing is drilled as shown earlier and there are tiny bubbles emerging from the 1/8" hole. The oil is about 280°F and I let it "cook" for 4 hours.
Later, the hole will be...
My XM757 has 7 (seven) different air systems, including 100% air brakes. It uses the a compressor system almost identical to the deuce's, but has the air supply tube permanently connected to the engine air intake canister, an alcohol evaporator and one "wet" tank (like the deuce) plus two "dry"...
My second tank is for hydraulic oil and occupies a space of about 32x18x18 when fittings are included. It holds about 20 gallons.
Patrick, when I wrote "waterproof", I didn't mean full time, but a box that can be rendered waterproof when needed. With door(s) and vent(s).
For fuel supply...
